Yeah, another tough PK loss, but I think Italy deserved the win.

Won't matter Thursday lol.

Luck? Did they show up? I thought the French looked bad against Spain until I had to endure that...

Feel for you. I remember the PK loss to Germany in Euro '96.

England just looked flat today, was not sure why a top flight team would give the ball away so much. The only way they were still in the match in the end was a few bounces off the post by the Italians.

Horrible way to decide a match, but I can't come up with a better method.

Italians will have to pick up their game if they are going to stay on the pitch.

Though I'm pro Spain, I, as a Dutchman, won't be dissapointed to see the Germans win this year.

Both great teams.

Cheers

England and Italy were a bit unlucky but without a doubt Italy deserved to go through.

I'll say it right now, if Italy play they way they played against the 3 kittens we will get smoked by ze germans. If Chillini can make it back for the game and looks ok and De Rossi moves back into the midfield game on....

Can't wait until thurs. Portugal and Spain will be a good game too.

Youre right - England seemed to be lacking energy but i will credit the Italians as well - apart from the first 25 minutes when England looked good, they just couldn't keep the ball and spent the next 95 minutes chasing it which tends to drain your energy!

Another key factor in tournament football is your best players have to play well if youre going to progress.........and Rooney was nowhere near his top form unfortunately.

Hodgson only had a few weeks to work with the team so i will give him more time. there are lots of good young players coming through so hopefully by the time the World Cup kicks off in 2014 the team will be stronger and able to compete against the top teams.

As for Italy having to pick their game up i'm not so sure - they played well and dominated the game - if they can finish the chances they were creating then Germany will be in for a tough game.

I'm sick of Spain's winning chain. And i also hate the Barcelona-like Tiki Taka tactic so hopefully they will be eliminated by Portugal.

Yes, I never thought I'd say it but Spain's "Beautiful passing game" is starting to get boring now.

At the very least I hope Portugal doesn't make it easy for them. I am pulling for Portugal in this matchup.

Portugal v.s. Spain should be good. I think/hope it's going to be a high scoring game unless Spain just keeps the ball away from CR7.

Can't wait for Germany/Italy tomorrow!

De Rossi looked dangerous, some of those shots on goal against England were just inches away. Balotelli is just overrated in my opinion as well haha

I just hope Germany figures out who they want to play and that those players keep the same chemistry to finish the tournament strong!
