New M drivers - E92 M3
Hi guys, I'm Jordy from the Netherlands & own a small carbon & performance shop. Got my first M3 4 months ago and did made some changes to it!
Got it like this: First mod where a few carbon bits including a Eventuri carbon intake system: Frontlip, mirrorcaps & side skirt extensions, carbon side fender cover. LCI rear lights & carbon bootlid spoiler: Next mod was supposed to be my set Vossen VSF-1 wheels with a new set of MPSS 255/35/19 & 285/30/19 but than something else happend.. Drove on a nice Thursday evening when the car shut down and didn't want to do anything. Took it on a truck to the local BMW dealer, end result engine seized. Previous owner let a shop replace the rod bearings and didn't fit 2 bolts of the oil-pump correctly.. So I'm currently waiting to get the brand new engine fitted bij the local BMW dealer. |

Nice progress with the M3 as far as the carbon mods. So sorry to read about the engine issue though . Hope you get it back on the road soon!

What was the time frame from when the shop replaced the rod bearings until the motor seized up? Are you talking the 4 months you drove the car it was fine? Just curious how the previous shop messed up the two bolts , unless they never tightened them down.

OMG that's terrible news. So sorry. Is BMW helping at all on the repairs, do you have to replace the entire engine?

Welcome, too bad about the engine ordeal but seems like you have it under control. Keep us posted of your progress

So the search is started for a new exhaust system! I bought a second hand E92 M3 akrapovic evo system but didn't like the sound at all, so sold it after 1 day. I'm now mainly looking into a Armytrix or IPE exhaust. Mainly as these exhausts have valves...
