so how is AW as a daily driver???
It is funny that everyone tells me white is the easiest color to keep clean but every time i see a white car it always looks dirty..... little tar marks, bugs, grime, etc. how are the AW owners finding the color as a daily driver? this will be my first white car.

As a DD it sucks. You know why? Because the cops can see you from much further away. I can hear them now. "Looks like one of them new BMWs. Hot dang! Fresh meat ticket time."

I had a white car while in college, it was a pain to keep clean because every little tar/bug/etc mark shows. i vowed never to buy another white car again. however, i saw a AW coupe at the dealer it was hot with cf roof. I almost bought it...but i remembered my old white car so I ordered a SSII E90

black is the hardest to keep clean especially if you live in a dusty environment. Silver is the easiest, white is meant to be similar to silver but I guess its gonna show the bugs more. The latter wont show swirl marks either.

Yes, it is. But I like drama. Seriously, I never cared for white or silver cars very much. That's all subjective so no flaming, ok?
One good thing about light colors is that the car does not get so hot under the sun. That's important in hot climates. And if I did have a white car I would definitely get tinted widows which would keep the heat down even more. As a DD I don't see much difference in white, black or in between. Probably the silver or gray cars don't look as bad when not clean. But they don't look as good when they are clean. Just IMHO.

Never been a fan of white until recent years. For some reason it looks great on the e90 and e92. A car that really looks stunning in white is the 997 GT3.
White will hold up long term better than other shades. Hides the imperfections. Easy to keep clean as well, with the exception of flying bugies. |

This is my first white car after a long line of silver and gray cars (plus two yellow Porsches...). I have always heard black is hard to keep clean but I would have to say that I have been a bit surprised how much more a white car shows dirt than a silver one. I don't regret getting AW, because it looks great, but the car will require more attention than previous silver and gray models...

Most of my previous cars were silver and I was looking for something different with my M3. AW is not as easy to keep "looking" clean as a silver car for sure. The front of my car looks like a butcher's shop after a blast on the highway, which always requires a thorough clean-up after.
Still, it's a great colour, shows the E92's lines well, contrasts brilliantly with CF roof and esp. 18" wheels. I love it, glad I chose white, especially since where I am, the car is one of a kind anyway, so it's not like it's "ANOTHER DAMN WHITE M3!!!" |

I had both at the same time. White shows dirt the most and hardest to keep clean. Black is the hardest to polish and wax and keep off swirl marks.

I had a 323i in White, its difficult to keep clean but I washed it every week so it wasn't too bad, just wash often and all will be good...and during the week hose down the rims b/c break dust is a killer on bimmers

Easy to look after. I had a black Audi (M3 replaced it) and have a black MB and a black Jeep and black is much harder to look after. Washing is easy, it's looking after the paintwork that is a pain and with white, it's an easy job compared to black.
Anyway, when it's dirty it looks good.

Depends on where you live, I guess. I live in Texas and dust and pollen is the worse problem. So black sucks but white is not bad at all. Silver is the best in terms of ease to keep clean.

Kinda hard to keep clean, but I have a Califonia Duster that i use on the car everyday or everyother day. I love the way AW looks at night, esp with tint all around.
I gotta say the car gets most of the attention at night..

White can get a bit grubby.

I have heard that both AW and Jet Black offer performance gains over the metallics because they reduce the car's weight. If I'm not mistaken the AW/JB paint jobs weigh around 0.12 kilograms less. Another solid reason to go with AW in my opinion.
