Iphone car adaptor accessory from BMW question

Sorry if this was already covered before, but I see that BMW is selling a car connection kit for the iPhone. Couple questions:

1) Will the kit work on all 3 variants? 2G iPhone, 3G, and 3G-S versions?

2) In addition to connecting up to the roof mounted antanae, does this connection also allow you to plug into the OEM stereo system?

I have the standard USB ipod plug-in system that works great for audio..and I can still use Bluetooth for hands free driving...but if I can get a litte better reception by purchasing this connection kit, I'll go for it. But if it means I lose my stereo integration, then I wouldn't want it.

There are two cradles for the iPhone. One for the original iPhone and one for the 3G which also works for 3GS.

They will provide antenna boost and iPod functionality but will only work if you have the Smartphone Integration with a spacer for the dock in your arm rest.
