▀▄ eas | Macht Schnell Competition Wheel Spacers DIY Instructions
There's a bit more to installing spacers than yanking the wheels off and sandwiching them between the wheels. Here's how to determine what kit is needed.
The outermost point of your tire/wheel combo will be at the outermost "bulge" of your tire's sidewall. Using a straightedge or ruler flush with both the top and bottom of the tire - measure the clearance from the outer face of the tire to the inner lip of your fender and record the results onto paper for later. In this picture, we can gauge the clearance using a tape measure (straightedge not shown): Next, begin by jacking up the vehicle and securing with jackstands. Remove wheel and clean hub of all dirt and/or surface rush with a wire wheel to ensure a clean and flush mounting surface, eliminating the chance of vibration: A small amount of anti-sieze on the hub lip will make spacer removal easier if needed: Macht Schnell spacer mounted to front wheel, ready for wheel mounting: Extended lugs must be used and are included with all Macht Schnell spacer kits. Secure wheel with new fasteners and torque to 85-90ft lbs, reinspecting after 50 miles. |

Can you specify what type of anti-seize was used?

Any type can be used - the specific brand used in our DIY was from Loctite.

Was the anti-seize used during installation?

With anti-seize, removal should be a snap. A slight amount of pressure with a pry bar will unseat the spacers.

Should have got REs! Seriously, get a tapered chisel and strike it at the joint. Should pop them off. A wood chisel would be best because of the acute angle tip.

That was one of the reasons why I bought the RE spacers for my NEEZ wheels.

As stated earlier, a slight amount of pressure with a pry bar will unseat the spacers - good prepping and a small amount of anti-seize on the hub surface will all easier removal if needed.

Who's removing them? We've been installing them almost every day on almost every M3 rolling through the doors.

Any mod you do to your car could affect warranty, but its a long shot with spacers. Only thing I could see being blamed on them is increased wheel bearing wear. Individual tire shops may have a policy due to assumed liability related to poor fitting spacers. High quality hubcentric spacers do not typically cause issues, though I wouldn't go more than 10-12 mm max.

Spacers
No, 15 vs. 12 is only 1/8" difference. I went 12/12 with my stock wheels and I thought it looke fine.
