New M3 GT2 Quick Release Race Steering Wheel!

For my sim setup. It's a licensed replica of the real thing.

Build quality is unbelievable. Wish I could use this on my real car. It's all Fanatec hardware for those wondering. Love their stuff.

I play GT5 (and soon GT6). Didn't care too much for iRacing. Too clinical? Just downloaded Assetto Corsa before I saw your post.

Looks awesome, Forza 5 Limited Edition? Or boring old Gran Turismo gaming?

Forza is good but it is no simulator. GT5 does a much better job translating real world driving to the screen. I used to think forza was much better until I started doing a lot of track time. Nothing I did at the track would translate into the game and I would get really frustrated. On the other hand cars in GT5 reacted exactly as expected. I like everything better about forza except for the fact that it isn't really a good simulation. Really appreciate and love the GT series now.

There's more to Forza than just hotlap. I got into the photomode, and I found it awesome. has to be with the controller, though.

I don't really like GT5. I could never get used to the little cursor thing, and the non-premium cars upset me.

Fanatec is leaps and bounds above Logitech G25. Heck, even the cheap (compared to this) CSR is great. I can only imagine how awesome this is. FFB, etc. are flawless. Fanatec's customer service is great.

Yup. The logitech wheels are great if you are on a budget. But Fanatec is made by and for enthusiasts. Attention to detail is on another level. The wheel feels like it really came from the actual GT2 car.

I hope they allow Fanatec setups to be compatible with the new Xbox one. I've heard that they haven't yet and I think it's a shame because I was looking into getting one for the new Forza 5.

Anyways, OP great looking setup. I was looking at that racing wheel not too long ago, nice to see it in some real life photos. I wish we could get something like that for our real cars.

They won't be. Microsoft made it very clear that they care more about making money than supporting great hardware. There's only 1 wheel that works for Xbox one at the moment and it's made by madcatz. It's pretty much a joke that they try and push Forza as a real driving simulator and screw all of their customers who actually invested in quality simulation hardware. But most of the die hard forza fans play on a standard xbox controller anyways so I guess they are aiming for their target demographic.

I believe on Forza, it's much easier to set faster hotlap times with a controller. On a controller, snapping the stick from left/right somehow makes the car turn quicker than if you gradually turned the steering wheel (with "normal" steering sensitivity). On "simulation" steering setting, the controller will cause a car to oversteer if turned too quickly, but that's controllable with the wheel. Unfortunately, you still spin out a lot with the wheel.

tl;dr wheel for fun, controller for quick times. Online and career mode I use wheel, for everything else I use the controller.

Also, the madcatz wheel will be abjectly terrible. Pity that T10/m$ won't let us use the Fanatec wheel, with the Forza logo right in the centre.

EDIT: not my setup, it's a picture of the Fanatec CSR for Forza. I use this wheel, just not this exact wheel.
