Yep, I believe you since my '09 E92 M3 DCT just crossed the pond in a boat, should be delivered in about a week hopefully I triple checked with the dealer about the MY and he did confirm it was an '09 model, not sure what the deal is but I'll let you all know once I get my hands on it and see it with my own eyes.

yeah i know the break-in procedure, so i'm running in step by step. regarding the failure, i turned off the car, went for lunch, turned it back on and the "failure" message disappeared! i drove for approx 30km and the car was fine (knock on wood), for now everything is cool, and i hope it stays that way. |

according to this page, the 10th digit is my year model:
http://www.autohausaz.com/bmw-auto-p...n-numbers.html (vin removed due to privacy reasons) 10th digit is a "9", ie 2009....we can safely conclude it's a 2009 model, SO ARE YOU GUYS HAPPY NOW? Last edited by marwan; 07-22-2008 at 12:18 AM.. |

Wow. There must be some disconnect here between BMW and its customer/dealer. His built date was May 08 but he got an 09 (basing from VIN#). My build date was June 08 but I got an 08 (again basing from VIN#). I also noticed that the his VIN number is actually less than mine (the last 5 numbers).

All 3 series are being built in Regensburg including M3. M3 engines are being built in Munich. M5/M6 are assembled in Dingolfing. It is also strange that BMW just recently decided on what upgrade they will have on 09 MY.

Mabrouk again, buddy. I have a US specs car, but I had it shipped here to Kuwait because I am living and working here now. I don't think my car likes the HOT weather. My oil level been a bit off. I don't have front PDC, and I have a 6MT. I love the red interior. Really nice. ENJOY.

Very interesting. Thanks for posting the VIN. The VIN does not lie so we must agree this is a 2009 model. Strange in that specs for 2009 models were just released. Different parts of the world are clearly getting 09s before others. A bit OT but I do recall my E36 M3 was manufactured in May of 1994 and was a 1995 model.
