I mount my V1 to the left of the mirror, as high as possible. No need to remove it since another nice feature of the OEM shades is they stay put without having to lock them with the visors, so I'd have liked better coverage below the mirror, but nothing is perfect . Overall they're probably the best alternative (or close to it).

As somebody already said, you need tint man. It's a necessity in hot climates, like AZ and TX. Still triple digits here, and no relief in sight. I have 20% on the rear 3 windows, but 35% on the front ones, for safety purposes (and any darker happens to be illegal in front windows as well).

Just ordered mine like a month ago and it was there. I have the coupe, so I'm more sure if you are looking for a different one. For is almost perfect on mine, I also have had one in my Jetta for 4 years now. I use it every I have solid black interior, plus the Texas sun and it's still doing awesome at rejecting heat, it does sag a little though.

+1 for heat shield... I use it in all my cars and makes a big difference during the summer.

I'd get these car eyes if they where cheaper

The only downside, due to it's thickness, it is almost impossible to roll it up from the drivers seat. I usually roll it up outside before getting in.

I have one of these in all our cars. Best one Ive found. Definitely helps in this Texas heat.

Not sure why anyone would bother with the effort of a sunshade. I have 70% ceramic tint on the windshield and you can't see it at all. No more UV and no more heat in the cabin.

Should be able to get it for less than $100 easy and it's a lot less effort. It's actually zero effort.

you are saying your 70% tint keeps your car as cool if not cooler than a heatshield?

I recently purchased a heatshield for both my car and my wife honda pilot. Both my wife and I along with our kids can feel the difference from our autozone fold up shades....

I would definitely recc one of these for anyone living in warm climates like myself here in so cal, I park my car outside daily, unfortunately my work does not have covered parking.

Your thinking sunshades overkill?

Well, to be fair it's not been that hot lately.

Today it sat in 90 degree sun for a bit with the sun coming in direct through the windshield and it did get a little warm. The black dash was a bit hot to the touch but nowhere near what it was before the tint.

Two minutes with the A/C and it was nice and cool. Before the tint it would take at least 5 minutes to get the temp to a tolerable level.

So yeah, I guess the tint wouldn't be enough in a very sunny climate if it's going to be out all day.

I have one that folds into a small circle which makes it much easier to store in the car instead of the big accordion style ones.

Yeah me too. $8 from pep boys.

Hey for you guys with the covercraft style shades, where do you put them when driving so not to interfere with passengers?

I keep my covercraft in the back seat since nobody rides back there. In the off-chance someone does squeeze back there, then I would store on rear package shelf, trunk or possible wedged between console and passenger seat

I used to use this style all the time because they are easier to store and cover most of the windshield. I switched to the Covercraft when I tried one in my old Jetta and found that it actually kept the interior a little cooler, or less hot I should say.

Garage is full of the Mrs. stuff and cars got kicked out I am ordering for 4 cars (08 128i and 135i, e36 M3, e39, Touring) I am tired of the cheap stuff and it just kills the interior here on Guam.

Thanks for the inputs

Bumping an older thread:

Can anyone confirm the Covercraft shade fits tighter to the rearview mirror than does the OEM BMW shade?

The shade for my E36 has always bugged me with the gap it leaves under the mirror, and I'd like to avoid that for the E90 shade I buy.

Thanks!

i got a covercraft shade for my nsx,a hard car to fit,and it fits fantastic,no big gap around the mirror.i thought about getting one for my m3,so i read some reviews.if you put in the kind of car you're fitting, the autoanything site conveniently puts reviews for the shade on that type of car at the top, which is great because they have over 5000 total reviews.i read the reviews for the shades for e90's, and a fair number of them said there is a big gap around the mirror.this has so far stopped me from getting one for the m3-
