6MT V.S. DCT

I have been wondering a few things about my 6MT compared to the DCT. I know that the gearing is much better on the DCT and was curious about the following though:

- Are any of the pulleys and tensioners the same? Or are they different?

Just curious

Yes different rear diff gearing, but they are interchangeable units. The belt, single sided vs double sided, on the AC/ power steering drive, was different on the early 2008 6mt cars, it utilized the single sided belt and the PS unit turned the opposite direction. All DCT models and 2009 to current - 6MT's, utilize the double sided belt. Not sure what belt the 2008 late model 6MT's use.

Here is what the single sided belt routing looked like . The only real difference is the power steering pulley is spinning the opposite direction and they reduced the amount of stress on the power steering and applied to the idler pulley.
