The explanation from BMW corporate was that they didn't want aftermarket resale value to be dependent on a specific number - hence "one of 200".

My former "Zanardi" lightweight NSX was one of 50 cars in 1999 - a plaque between the seats was individually engraved & numbered -#17 was mine. (Quality Zanardi's today command
about a 20%- 30% premium over same year NSX's - now one of the most sought after models)

Here's some info from BMW on the cars:

The M3 Lime Rock Park Edition Coupe is positioned as a classic, basic Driving Machine with excellent value, and the base MSRP includes the following:
• M3 Coupe, MY13
• Fire Orange exterior paint from BMW Individual
• Competition Package (ZCP) with Style 359M silver 19” wheels
• Anthracite and Black cloth manual-adjustment seats with Nappa Leather trim
• Inconel / titanium exhaust muffler
• Carbon fiber front chin splitters
• Carbon fiber rear deck spoiler (requires 326 rear spoiler delete)
• Anthracite Alcantara steering wheel with flat-bottom design and blue index stripe
• 6-speed manual transmission

OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT
Optional equipment may be specified during a brief window of time via fax-in vehicle change form, which will be provided to dealers by Automotive Sales in the coming days. This process is similar to HEA programs for other vehicles. We ask that dealers only submit 1 change form per vehicle to avoid confusion and change-order requests.
• (ZPP) Premium Package
• (ZCW) Cold Weather Package
• (609) Navigation System
• (2MK) M-DCT Transmission
• (322) Comfort Access
• (415) Power Rear Sunshade
• (494) Heated Front Seats
• (507) Rear Park Distance Control
• (5AC) Automatic High Beams
• (655) Satellite Radio with 1-year subscription
• (6NR) BMW Apps
• (752) BMW Individual Enhanced Premium Sound
• Limited availability: Black Wheels (Competition Package, Style 359M)

UNAVAILABLE EQUIPMENT
• Moonroof
• Non-black interior color
• Change of interior trim (4MZ, etc.)

DISTRIBUTION NOTES
• 200 units to be produced in total.
• European Delivery and Performance Center Delivery are not available.
• National Automotive Sales will send distribution notifications next week.
• No dealer receives more than one unit.
• Customers may not request a specific VIN or build number
Don't forget that LRP M3 comes with M performance exhaust and it sound better then the stock M3 exhaust. Congrats on getting your hands on 1 of 200 and it is a beautiful car.

Yeah they are Cool and I would take them. But a few years old and with mileage compared to a brand new car. Nah.

You do the math for a genuine Lime Rock.

OR you can have the following cars easily for what you just paid for a 3 series:

Audi R8
Lamborghini Gallardo
Ferrari F360
Ferrari F430 (higher mileage)

Hmmm do the math now. lol Dont get me wrong I am a modified E92 M3 owner as well but with that type of money I would have opted for a better car.

Wait...wut?

You would have opted for a different car for the money BUT you didn't. You modded your m3 instead. I'm confused!! whats the difference?

Add me to the list of LRP owners - pixked mine up on January 30th, was even harder to ding Brand new since mine is a 6MT and one 50'of them were made...

I did some research and found out that they started production on 08/12 and build 25 units per week till they hit the 200 total mark.

Mine was produced on 8/14

I am trying to see if you guys don't mind posting last 7 of your VINs - maybe there is a way we can figure out which of the 200 we have...

Thanks
