My Last day on the Nurburgring...

So, I had the last on the ring today...it was a beautiful 74 degrees with sunny skies. I did not do a top run today. Today was just for fun and waving at the cameras taking many many pictures and shots and videos. I will most certainly miss this track as its the most famous to me but now Im in search for tracks near DC or east coast and looking into doing big things coming up!
My trainers always were about safety first and I appreciate that and what they all taught me. I had potential for lower 8 minutes and perhaps dipping into high sevens but an opportunity for a new job has put my mind elsewhere!

See you next time Nurburg...

Best time recorded - 8 minute 40 seconds with 3 incidents that I had to yield for. An approx time of 8 minute 27 without incidents.

Personal Laps taken - 31
Training Laps taken - 15

Total ownership time of e92 m3 - January 21 2011 - Present (shipped on 9th May 2011)

First day on ring with e92 m3 - Feb 13th 2011
Last day on ring with e92 m3 - May 8th 2011

A going away video!!!

Sounds good! Love that V8 noise. What a great circuit to have as your "home" track.

Know that your M3 had a proper "break-in" ... on the track it was born on.
Congrats - you'll miss it.
The East Coast has some great tracks - you'll be pleasently surprised.

Not to disrespect VIR but it is nothing compared to the Ring. I agree that it is as close as it gets to the Ring on the east coast which is pretty sad. It took me 3 laps to memorize VIR, took me a lot more studying to fly around the Ring.... And then there's the gay helmet and HPDE rules around here. I'll make some HD videos of VIR soon, but here's a shitty video of one of my slower days at the Ring (warped brakes and bald tires). I wished I joined up with you guys when I was stationed there. I had somebody stick a ///M Flight business card on my car when I stopped at the Vogelweh PX. Looked like a lot of fun.

Yeah, I meant Mflight. It's too bad they weren't more involved with the Ring considering they were all stationed right next to the damn thing. I had to drive from the other side of Germany to get to the Ring.....

The Mflight President is nothing but good people tho....

My trainer had to drive 3 or 4 hours to go to the ring a few times a month before his first race here..

I am also headed stateside, but plan as many trips back to the Eifel when possible. I will at a minimum visit each June to attend the 24h race with some German friends and maybe rent a car to satisfy my need. Gotta love Space A!

Look me up if you're interested in making the trip. The 24h race over 3 nights is InSAne fun.
