When will you be getting the E92 M3?
There are at least 100 people answering various polls here -- but how many are actually set to get a car, with deposit down?
Do you expect to get one of the first ones? With the car likely to bow in the US in calendar year 2008, I think there will be few 2008's and then the 2009's will come out in the fall of 2008 -- similar to the E46 M3 roll out. When is everyone planning to get a car, realistically? |

i'll pick up the new m3 immediately upon the M-DCT (DSG) availability for North America. In the even both transmissions aren't released simultaneously, i'll forego my early spot to someone who wants the manual tranny, instead opting to take M-DCT upon its release.

Realistically, 2009-10 to even being to consider. I'll let the wave worry about the bugs and depreciation (MSRP+)

2009-10
My dealer informed me that I could expect delivery in 2009 (and so it says on my receipt). However, with all the news breaking (and more to come in Sept out of Frankfort) I am thinking I will wait (2010?) until the new transmission comes out and I have some more info on the convertible (the transmission is a priority). I would be one who is interested in keeping this for many years.
I haven't heard much if any interest in the convertible. I like a few times a year on the track but with retirement almost upon me I like the road trips with the top down and the music of the M3 engine and pipes. If I didn't have the time for road trips I would opt for the CF top (it also looks cool) for lower weight and rigidity for track time. Some folks have suggested testing the CF roof and convertible before deciding. In Canada we don't have the luxury of this option, we order our car, pay the non-refundable deposit and drive for the first time upon delivery. Faith rules here! By then the rumor mill will have died and more facts will emerge to assist in making the hard decisions. Friends in the UK, you remind me how lucky were are here to enjoy driving at the prices we do in NA! |

Same here. Hopefully by then (2009 or 2010) we don't get temped by next generation (post E90 generation) spy pictures and start another waiting game all over again!

Hopefully March 2008 or sooner
I have spot #4 at my dealer, which given the size of the dealer, should be their first allocation. I will not buy a MT, period, and will pass on my spot as required to get the DCT. Likely Space Grey/Fox Red. I am still thinking there is a small chance we will see 1st allocations in the US before March. I think this based on the maturity of official information from BMW, the ordering happening already in the UK, and BMWs desire to move toward more simultaneous releases in NA and EU. Here is too wishful thinking. All I have in the mean time is this fun, entertaining, addicting, dynamic forum...
