Fwiw I moved my track day to Monday June 16th with VCMC...easier to skip work and maintain family weekend time . There's still some spots available and they're a good group to run with.
I'll be there on the 16th; looks like it will be a good event.

This will be my first track event of 2014, and my first in the Pacific Northwest...

The Ridge is one of the tracks I have the least experience with. But with my stock E92 M3 (camber plates, track pads, BFG-R1) ran a 1:56.6 and had a great time running with some of the guys here on the forum.

Cool!! I'll be in a white '11 E92 parked w/ at least 3 friends (E36 M3, red turbo miata, lotus 7 replica)...feel free to park with us or just stop by to say hello. This is my 1st track day w/ the M3, but I've done ~8 events at the ridge.

Thanks...that a good baseline. How'd your brakes handle the ridge? The front straight isn't as long/fast as some other tracks...so I'm hoping just my track pads will be enough.

*I'll be in Portland for the Oct Chump car race ('95 325is)...any chance you're on a chump team down there? Our team raced at Portland last year and absolutely loved the track..the video's of the track don't look as exciting as actually driving it.

The brakes do fine at the Ridge compared to PIR. Front pads could last 2 days at the Ridge where they only lasted one day at PIR this last week. No chump for me. I am building a S62 + E46 M3 to race and Time Trial. That is why I have driven the E92 M3 a few times this year.

I'm surprised at how quickly some of these track days are filling up...Sat/Sun makes sense during the summer, but even week days are filled a couple weeks prior.

Makes me really appreciate the Pacific Raceway winter lapping days where only 10-20 ppl show up...there'd be times when I saw no one in front or behind while on the track.

Nice meeting you today, hope to see you at a future event. What rear spoiler do you have...I've been looking at the JBspeed rep (OEM CF style)...seeing yours in person confirmed that I'm getting it.
*thanks for the line help going into turn 6...straightening it out is the right call.

My best time was 2:00.2s w/ a passenger...we had 3 dry sessions before thunderstorms rolled in. The M3 was a lot of fun...truly the perfect all around car.
-Car: BPM tune, test pipes, Advan AD08's, PFC-8 pads
-EDC on full stiff seemed to work best in the dry (I've got a '11 ZCP so full stiff is dynamic and the Ridge is very smooth).

Looking forward to seeing what the new Stingray can do that is in the advanced group with me, as well as the Radical SR3-RS. I have a feeling that I'll have to keep a vigiliant eye on the rearview mirror.

I'm toying with getting a 997 GT3, or some form of the C7 (either Z51 or Z06). I want a DD that is more track focused than street, but still able to head out on weekends with no problems in it. I feel the M3, even with mods is more street focused than track. If I'm going to compromise, I'd like the focus reversed.

You are correct in that the E92 M3 is a very comfortable street car....okay on the track.....can be very good on track but with lots of mods. I would vote for GT3 or GT3 RS. They can be better with mods but you don't have to. Great for the track out of the box but a little harsh and loud for the street. Plus the brakes are just fine stock where as the Vette and M3 needs a BBK.
The Radical is easy to lose. They can hide behind your car and not be seen in any mirrors so be careful.

Great day out there, and good hanging out! Very fun event, like Tom usually pulls off.

Your car is incredibly well set up. What a beast.

That's crazy! I'm running NT01s and Pagid RS19s (with cooling) on stock calipers, and get a season out of the pads. I've only driven the Ridge 3 times now total, so I'm nipping at 1:55. Did a ton of 1:56.1 and a few 1:56.0X on Friday.

What pads are you going through in a day?

Same setup last year, I got more than 10 track days out of the pads. Laguna Seca, ORP, Ridge, etc... Those are still my spare set now (not completely wasted). I do use Motul 660 though... Never had fade once, even after dual driving it for three days at Laguna Seca last summer. It was pretty much out there all day for three days in the advanced and instructor groups...

Thanks Larry! Still trying to get to grips with the car to be honest. Its a beast! and coming from a DCT M3, I'm still learning to manage a manual transmission under track driving conditions (its hard, but getting easier).

You and Nic looked great out there chasing each other!

This next weekend Sept 20 & 21will be the final NASA event. I will be in the time trial. In case folks didn't know there are contingency prizes from many manufacturers. First place can win a couple of tires! Second and sometimes one tire. But each class needs a minimum 5 cars. So come out and compete!

Second. I have been invited out to PIR to drive BMW new car offerings on Sept. 24! Hopefully I will get a chance to lap the new M3/M4........can't think of a better test drive!
