Anyone in Charlotte, NC able to check out an E90 M3 for me?
Hey everyone,
Been on the lookout for an e90 M3 six speed for quite some time, and have yet to find one locally here in Charleston, SC. Unfortunately, the sports car community is pretty lackluster in this area, so I have expanded my search, and came across an 08 e90 M3 in Charlotte, NC. I was curious if anyone on the forum was in that area, and wouldn't mind checking out this car in person, before I made the drive up. https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-...&modelCode1=M3 When I spoke to the guy on the phone, he mentioned that only the alternator had been replaced. Said it was locally maintained at the local Hendrick BMW dealer. Price seemed reasonable based on the market. Thank you, Brent Last edited by 60z; 04-04-2018 at 06:15 PM.. Reason: wrong url |

This looks like one that might be worth the 3.5 hour drive to Charlotte to see it for yourself assuming the specs check your boxes. The VIN shows it's pretty loaded and has the upgraded comp pack wheels. The price is about right too. As you probably already know if you've done your research...The only downside on the 2008 is the older iDrive system, non-LED tail lights, a different, smaller clutch on the 6MT cars (very expensive to replace since a new flywheel is required when the clutch goes), and the early rod bearings. I wouldn't wait too long to check it out and of course get a professional PPI before you pull the trigger. Good luck.

Thanks for the help, very much appreciated. He had a PPI done in November, would it make sense to get another one? Based on the PPI, the gaskets were beginning to wear, so he had them replaced, along with spark plugs.
If another PPI is needed, are you by chance familiar with the Charlotte area, and could recommend a reputable shop for a PPI? I found that Eurowise may be a great spot. As far as price of the car, I was thinking if everything checked out, I wanted to be around $26k, does that sound fair? Thank you again for your responses. Quick update.
Had Eurowise do the PPI, and they said it was one of the cleanest M3's to ever roll through their shop. Hoping to drive it home from Charlotte this weekend, and looking forward to finally being an M3 owner. Already picking out mods, and I told myself I wouldn't..... |

Sounds very similar to my situation. Guy treated the car like it was part of the family. I ended up driving to Charlotte on Friday night to snag it, and couldn't be happier. By far, the most fun I have had driving a car. Looking forward to some SouthEast meet ups in the future.
