Is that white SLK yours too l4wr3nc3? Looks fast, furious and restricted for short people.

its my sisters technically...but i drive it soo much that it is basically mine. i love the interior of that car. its not cramped at all. my family actually owns both the R170 (old slk) and the R171 (new one). i must say the old one is very very very cramped.

Oh I see, so this new SLK is more spacious, thats nice because the last one was really cramped. My knees rubbed against the steering column area. I still was able to drive it without lowering the convertable power operated hardtop, but still I gotta complain about the lack of headroom.

The supercharger was awesome, it had just enough power to add a smile to your face. My mother kept her yellow SLK Kompressor until the second speeding ticket, after that it was forever sold away~

I'm curious to know what you think when you compare driving the SLK versus the e90. How would you describe the relative experiences? Which one was more fun and why?

i have to say though. the interior of the car is awesome. The seats hug you just like bucket seats (but more comfortable). If you ever sat in a m3 with the side bolsters hugging, you thats how it feels. plus the engine is really responsive.

i actually drive the slk kompressor daily. i drive it to school. i cant complain about the supercharger haha it really was alot of fun to drive. but i mean now a days with civic si and rsx already in the 210 hp range, the old R170 really cant compare in acceleration. But at the end of the day, my slk230k is still more fun to drive =D

well the thing is, the e90 isint mine. its actually my girlfriends. im planning to order mine sometime this month. i've just been on the board reading up. But i have driven her e90 many times. Since its a 325 without sports package the ride seems a bit softer then the slk350. The acceleration of the slk350 is way faster then a 325. MBUSA claimed that 0-60 in the slk was 5.5 and i think BMWUSA claimed the 0-60 for 330 was 6.1??? dont quote me on that but just from those numbers i would guess the slk would out accelerate the 330 anyday. i raced a g35 on the freeway. from 80-120 the g35c could not keep up. It was the 05 G35c (i could tell by the 19" OEM rims)

hmm driving wise. I havent driven the slk350 that hard through the turns yet. i get really scared to scrape the car. i mean the car scrapes going over the smallest driveways. Today when i drove the slk350 to school i had to make a left and the light turned yellow so i accelerated and took the turn around 40mph. the turn was not too sharp, but i wouldnt call it wide either. The car took it fine. No loss of traction, no tire screeching. When i drove the 325 i took turns relatively hard. it handled really nicely. My friend also has a 325 but with sports package and the thing i noticed is that if you take a turn really hard, the tires start to screech like mad but you never lose traction. maybe it has something to do with the run flats i dont know.

i cant really say which is more fun to drive. i mean if you want something that gets you alot of looks, accelerates and a engine that responds like no other, and with a lot of technology built in. i would say get the slk350. If you want something that accelerates fairly quickly as well and handles like no other car i've driven, get the e90.

sorry for the long post haha jsut soo much to talk about

Both (SLK&E90) look great and drive great. I gotta say the SLK is much more sportier due to its class. Remember the E90 is a sports sedan, not a roadster. If you want comparison, Z4 vs SLK. Now that makes plenty of sense. Ciao~

Very informative and thorough post l4wr3nc3.
