Depends on which OEM mod you are talking about. The straight through method is very loud with the TPs but I feel sound great. I think Sered's post pretty much nailed it. If you want a more bassy muscle car sound the CNT is the way to go. If you want a more exotic tone (which is what I like, so my opinion) the Megan is the way to go. I can't begin to tell you the compliments I get on the sound of my car.

I have the louder method on my box the straight through. After hearing that would you say your megan is still a little louder lower rpms over the oem mod. Last thing I want to do is spend money trying to make it Louder by going with the Megan and it's the same as the oem mod lol.

I thought the OEM mod like you have is actually a little louder than the Megan with the test pipes. A little more rasp...the Megan is pretty aggressive but at the border of being obnoxious with the test pipes.

Can anyone else chime in and agree that my exhaust set up is louder than the Megan. I want it a little louder so I'm assuming go cnt since you said the Megan is quiter. You have the secondary cats and resonators still on your vehicle?

I just installed a set of test pipes in conjunction with the CNT racing system. It is definitely very bassy at low rpms, but from about 3.5k all the way to redline it sounds like an absolute monster. It's nice and throaty but with just enough rasp from the test pipes to sound like a straight up race car. It burbles when you let off the gas and has a bit of a crack on every up shift (Almost like a very muffled gunshot). When I'm bored I just take the car out for a drive now just to hear the noises it makes.

How's the car on the highway? And I'm assuming you have primary test pipes and straight all the way back. No resonators or secondary cats. How's driving around town and inside the cabin with the windows up cruising. Thanks man. I want louder but not like I had on my previous audi. It was a straight up race car lol

No actually. I only have the test pipes and section 3. Everything else is OEM. Above 80 in 7th gear is pretty unobtrusive, when I drop below that I drop down to sixth. The drone dies down above 3k. If you're used to true race car loud, it'll be totally bearable

Sounds good. I might go with cnt knowing how I have a pretty loud set up now on wot. Plus the cnt is cheaper by 100 bucks. Anyone chime in with experience.

That's my current setup. I personally think it sounds good enough. Even my friends who are not car savvy think it sounds great and the volume is just slightly louder than oem mod alone. But when you get on the throttle, it sounds much more opened up compared to the mod alone.

I did some dyno runs yesterday at EAS so I'll post up the video so you can get an idea of the sound over the full rpm range with the test pipes and CNT

The Megan has more of a howl to it...not to mention more high tech sounding. I heard a CNT exhaust on a E92 M3, pretty much sounded the same as this video.

I had OEM mod before. Its a bit louder but when I added meghan i also did ACM. It isnt the same tone as OEM mod. The video posted earlier is a fair representation, however everything sounds a bit different in person.

The megan is so cheap might as well give it a try. if you dont like it you can probably resell for about the same price.

I just installed the cnt catback paired with my Matt schnelle x pipe , n I think it sounds terrible . The fitment n quality of the catback n the x pipe are spot on and look great , but there's way to much drone at lower rpms it makes my head hurt ,,however I think this might be one of the most free flowing exhaust set ups out there.... I'm looking at catted x pipes to minimize the drone . Anybody else have the Matt schnelle x pipe ? What catback are you running ? I was running it with the stock . N I thought it sounded alright .

I have megan and my friend has CNT.. his exhaust is quieter overall and has horrible drone at lower rpms, pretty much the exact opposite of how my megan is - barely any drone and sound picks up at higher rpms.

personally, I think the CNT sounds like crap
