BBS LM-Rs (you snooze, you lose)
Since the owner of the BBS LM-Rs changed to the 20" Forgelines, his BBS LM-Rs (with PS2s) were available. After we removed them, washed them, they were sold in 2 hours to a lucky E92 M3 owner.
He's running the same 15mm front and 12mm rear spacers the original owner did. It pushed the rims out perfectly. This car is lowered on TCK D/As. |

nice... why did he need spacers? was this off a 335? 15mm spacers are quite serious.

For obvious reasons, Tire Rack is very conservative with their fitments and recommendations of wheel/tire fitment on these cars. The original owner went with their suggestions the first time, and what he got were STOCK size tires on conservative offset rims. The spacers helped improve the stance of the wheel. You can see his new wheels, here. http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=238831 His new wheels are Forgeline 20x9.5 and 20x11, with 255/30R20 and 305/25R20. Perfect fitment, clearance for his Brembo Monoblocks (front and rear) with a nice, generous lip. Fronts weighed 52 lbs. and rears were 55 lbs. complete. |

Those LM-Rs were definitely a sweet deal. LM-Rs just look unusually small...for some reason. Maybe it's the spoke design that gives the illusion that it's smaller than it really is. Looks great though regardless.

It is the spoke design and the weak offset/width. I would of jumped on these if the specs were on par with the LMs I am looking into... Great deal though, he should run some spacers at least.

20mm is definietely a big spacer and shouldnt be necessary in a new wheel market. 20mm is a lot, if your spending all that money on aftermarket wheels they should fit flush from the factory, not need 20mm spacers. On the flipside, if you already have wheels that fit proper but want a super aggressive setup, 5-8mm spacers arent a big deal. Im gonna most likely run BBS LMs 19x10F ET25 and 19x11R ET25. They are going to sit as flush as can be and be very aggressive. This is the way wheels should come, instead of needing 15-20mm spacers to look right, IMO of course....

I went to go see these in person as I was very serious in purchasing them. had a buyer for my stcoks and all. For some reason tho, altho I love the wheel in pictures, something just didnt look right. They do look very small, in person as well. On the flip side, I put 15/12mm spacers on the stock wheels and they look perfect. I MEAN PERFECT.

my take:
1. "you snooze you lose" is completely irrelevant, wth ur talking about?! 2. 1/2 of ur pics dont even show the wheels (the 2nd half) 3. spacers? that sucks!!!! completely! why did u pay so much to end up with spacers 4. no, those arent perfect, u can push them out more |

1. The title referred to the sale of the wheels/tires. The original owner had them for sale, a few people PM'd asking, the new owner of the wheels bought them on the spot (within 2 hours of them coming off). 2. I know, so what? 3. Again, not my wheels, not my purchase. We only removed the wheels and installed them on the new owner's car. 4. What may be perfect for someone, may not be for someone else. |
