Shop recommendation for wheel refinishing?

I am considering refinishing a set of Vorsteiner forged wheels which are currently in a textured matte finish. I would likely go with a smooth gloss painted finish but might also look at a brushed finish.

Any recommendations for a really, really good shop to talk to about that? If they were HRE's I would send them there but obviously they aren't.

Any recommendations are welcome. thanks.

If you have the FF-101's those are not forged wheels; they are "flow forged" which seems to be an advanced casting or flow-forming, or ?? process (many manufacturers use different terminology for a mystery process that is supposed to be better than the typical cast wheel). I honestly don't know what "Flow Forged" means but I do know that it's not a truly forged wheel. Your HRE wheels are forged; which is one of the reasons that I would choose them over the FF-101's. I'm not saying your FF-101's aren't good wheels (don't know enough about them to have a strong opinion); I run Flow Formed Advans on the track. I don't know of any wheel re-finishers in your area but I would certainly trust IND to do any type of paint work.

You are correct - they are flow forged. Good catch. The disadvantage of being in San Antonio is that there just aren't many options for custom auto work of any kind. I know I'll have to ship them no matter what. I'll call IND and see what they say.

Anyone else had good luck with a particular company?

I had my BBS RC wheels re-finished by Fast Forward Wheels in El Monte, CA.

They are basically the refinishing branch of Wheel Dynamics.

I was overall happy with the service and product.
