Coding question - updating dct software at dealership...does it erase all the coding?

Will getting the latest DCT software update at the dealership.....remove all prior coding done to the car?...ex lci tail light software

Would re-coding be necessary?

I don't think so they won't be erasing the stuff on the module that would associate with the tail lights
