You guys who are defending gintani failing to realize the the point.. The videos and the timelines are what gintani advertised. The fact that their shop car has been running for six months is what gintani brought to the table. Videos in two weeks and a possible release in 2 months. Why advertise this if your not 100%. But in no way am i defending the childish comments that are being made.
Dont make promises you cant keep. Especially an item that many are desperate are for. They mights as well just take this thread down, and make new one when progress has been made And the fact that some of us do not own a e92 m3 has nothing to do with it.. I own a turbo e46 m3 and was ready to sell it immediately when they brought this teaser based on the timeline they said.. Now ill just wait until i actually see the kit up and running before i put my car up for sale |

what's the phrase - "under-promise and over-deliver"? Agree that there are some childish comments in here but agree with ^^^ that we're simply holding them to a deadline that they proposed and committed to.....

I think its great that Gintani is coming out with a turbo kit for the E9X. However, at this point why wouldn't you just wait for the new M3? I know it will only have 6 cylinders vs 8 but you'll also have a new car and a warranty?

A tuner working on a bluetooth dongle would be new...if the tuner were a EE and doing the design. In my experience, all these tuners are buying from the same "Guy" in Israel and none of them have any EE experience to design anything themselves. Sometimes the big tuners will subsidize the new feature development (like a bluetooth dongle) and get an exclusive contract for some number of months. When that's not the case, usually the big tuners get first dibs at the new products. This is why you see other second and third tier tuners getting locked out and unable to get their cables while the big tuners gobble them up for the first few months of production. Usually the second and third tier tuners get these new cables, new dongles, and new features months after the big tuners. Just follow the cables and you can usually tell the pecking order and importance of the tuner. I realize this Gintani project is running behind schedule, but that doesn't mean it's off track. I always advise people starting complex builds to double, maybe triple the time estimate a shop gives them. Depending on the complexity, some projects can take over a year to complete. I don't see anything wrong with a developer sharing their progress along the way, even if it is running behind schedule. I expect it to run behind schedule. I noticed earlier they were sending manifolds to the foundry. Foundry delays are quite common. I've had to wait 6-8 weeks just for the foundry to cast a half dozen manifolds for me. Sometimes the foundry will tell me only 1-2 weeks for castings, then to tell me 6-8 weeks a few days later after they receive the patterns. There's no way to plan around this; it happens all the time. Personally I hope to see more progress on this build because I like reading about it. |

I think most of the guys in here complaining about the 'promised' deadline only read "twin turbo kit for the M3" and "less than 2 months". After reading the OP I don't see where it was promised anywhere. They even stated that they will only give specs when they are 100% comfortable and this thread is a timeline to show its progression.
You guys have no money vested in them so let them continue to spend theirs to R&D a sound, reliable, quality kit FOR YOU rather than pissing and moaning cause that haven't put they're tig torch down and pulled they're phone out to snap pics. Hell, I know some places won't even begin to do something like this until they have a couple people who have sent deposits for a product. Which would you rather have, a rushed kit that cracks/has issues and sub-par power production, a quality kit that works great but takes some time, or nothing at all? Trust me, I know the steps they are going through, I have been building cars/turbo kits for a while now, it takes a lot of time going from scratch on something that has never been done. You go into it and have to predict where a possible stress riser/failure point is and find a solution that will prevent it, design manifolds that fit and still allow general mantaince to be performed while still flowing well, etc, etc. Have patience. |

So many females in this thread. Gintani is not a franchise company, and very rarely does anything meet deadlines. And making something that nobody has done before, or that had minimal information to begin with will lead to unexpected obstacles elongating the deadline

I think it's more that they are now posting this as the e9 m3 has come to an end and soon a lot of people will be moving to the m4. Kind of seems like a waste for them to spend all this time and money to continue developing a product for a car that's no longer in production and being replaced with the turbo m4...

I'm waiting to see what happens with the harrop supercharger kits.. At 12k, you can't beat it. The only thing missing from all these supercharger kits is torque which is why i cared forba turbo kit.. This style of supercharger is on my e55 and its a ton of fun.. Hopefully tuning goes right. A supercharger kit with a boost controller, how can you go wrong
