I got pulled over by a trooper on Union tpke in Bellrose by LA Fitness and Lake success going 65 in a 30. I didn't take off my V1, and he gave me a long lecture about how it wudnt save me from dying, because it'll encourage me to speed blah blah. Overall, he was a nice dude and didnt give me a ticket

Get a lawyer.
New York City and the neighboring counties are notoriously harsh in the traffic court. Lawyers are pretty much your only hope of getting the infraction reduced.
Also familiarize yourself with the common types of cars used as unmarked pacing vehicles. After a while you can pick them out of traffic quite easily, even at night.

First and foremost a lawyer CANNOT hurt.

I never brought a lawyer.

In my last 6 speeding tickets I NEVER and I repeat NEVER got any points or any speeding infractions. I do have 2 pending right now that I will also go alone and fight alone. I just tell them I pay my own insurance(im young+its under my name) im not a speeder(because I have a clean license) and im willing to pay a hefty fine to not receive any points on my license but understand I do have to pay for the officer stopping me and i have learned my lesson bla bla bla. All they want is money. Wish me luck on these next two.

i got a ticket too from fuking upstate ny. the cop didnt even use laser even when he said he was...my V1 never sounded. eitherway, im hiring a lawyer to deal with it. said two possible outcomes, non-moving violation (0 points but 150 fine), or failure to obey traffic device (2 points, 150-200 fine). non-moving violation also takes out the mandatory BS court fee of $85 in NY

Honestly in your case put the lawyer on hold. You might save some money (lawyer) and get the same results. Go up there and speak to the prosecutor and ask to plead guilty to a non moving violation (Unsafe driving in NJ). Worst case scenario if they give you a hard time, pleade not guilty and request a trial. At that point spend the money for the lawyer. Essentially you will be paying a guy $600 for 30 minutes of his time.

First and formost, good luck ballzzz on ur tickets.

As far as my case goes. I met up with the lawyer last night. Gave him $950 dollars and basically I am guaranteed no more then 4 points for the speeding ticket. Which at that point All I need to do (which I already did today) is take that driving responsibility class, (had to pay 100 and got my certificate ) and those points automatically come off.In total the speeding ticket was 8pts and the other 2 were 3 ponts each. Thats 14 pts. The ones for the lane changes r being changed to parking ticklets, the tints is being thrown out, and hopefully if he can beat the speeding all together would b great, but maximum is 4 points which then gets reduced to none, automatically once certificate is shown. Oh and the fines will not exceed $275.

What i learned is that a lawyer is deff worth every penny of it, being that insurance money alone will kill u if ur found guilty.

I gotta ask...how can you change a moving violation to a parking ticket in NY? In NJ there is no way a prosecutor could defend that if the State AG did an audit.

I think you should do some more research on that, what Ive been told my defensive driver instructors and lawyers is that you only get points off if you are close to the 11 point limit. Also Ive been told that you need to take the course after they give you your tickets in court. Not saying your wrong, just check to make sure what you think is true.
