Will an LCI sedan trunk depreciate the car?

Just wondering, will having an LCI trunk de value my sedan?

Since all the body parts are stamped with the car's vin... The LCI trunk isn't going to have a matching VIN anymore (Does it even have a VIN... I need to look I guess). I know some buyers would be picky about having all the orignal body panels.

Just want to know so I can decide if I can just throw my old trunk away as it's just taking up room...

I always keep all my stock parts, even if they do take up space. Makes resale of the car much easier and opens up the market as not everyone is going to want a repainted or aftermarket panel. Will it depreciate the car? Well, that's up to the buyer when the time comes. But it can limit the market your car will appeal to.

IMO it adds value. these aren't classic collectors where the vins need to match everything. in fact I don't believe there's a vin stamped on the bootlid

Behind the license plate bracket is a semi-permanent sticker with the VIN.

Sure the LCI trunk is not period/year specific but because it's not a collector car, it likely won't affect market value of the car beyond any individual buyer's preference for it. Most people would appreciate the updated tails as long as the paint on the trunk is blended properly.

Typically I'd want to keep the parts, but I have so many oe parts from this and other cars that I replaced with aftermarket modifications that my garage and yard is starting to look like a salvage yard.

So sounds like it's not gonna affect anything if I just toss this trunk into the recycling bin... Tried offering it in the classifieds as an oem M3 spoiler for for free that happens to be attached to an oem trunk and no one wants it.
