Problem w/ wear sensor on Brembo BBK

OK, searched but could not find a similar issue and I'm hoping to find a solution rather than cutting the wires to bypass the sensor.

I installed my 380 front and rear Brembos back in late April 2014 with no issues. Starting about a month ago I got a warning that my brake pads are worn and needed to be replaced. The iDrive actually showed only one wheel as needing new pads. Of course the pads have plenty of miles left on them so my indy shop reset the iDrive and sent me on my way. Well within a couple of weeks the warning came back. Back to the shop and they reset again but the warning came back within a few days this time.

Sensors were replaced when the Brembos were installed. Car is now back at the shop and they are trying to figure out the issue. They installed another new sensor, reset the warning and took it for a test drive. The mileage till replacement quickly dropped from 15,000 miles to the point of throwing a warning again. Needless to say we are all perplexed! Any ideas short of cutting the wires...

Thanks in advance!

I have Brembos, and went through the same sequence of events, ultimately installing new rear sensors as well. When I drove off, it said I had some ridiculously low number of miles left as well. Being happy that I had more than a couple of days worth of driving before the indicator light would turn on again, I decided to deal with it when it came up. However, as I drove more, the number of miles needed before replacing pads started to go up, back up to 43K miles. So give it some time, and see if the same thing happens to you

Thanks tbone! I'll talk to the shop in the morning and relay this information. They had tried to contact Brembo, hoping they might offer some technical advice but were still awaiting a response when I last spoke with them this afternoon. At least the weather is nice down here so I'm driving the Z3!

Just to follow up, my indy shop has determined that one sensor had a break in the cable inside of the insulation. Basically they could clear the service warning and then with the car on the lift, wiggle the cable and get the message to come on. This sensor was fairly new so they are replacing under warranty.

kscarrol which pads version did you use for set up? I talked to a local shop and they don't recommenced track pads has to be street pads. Can you share your experience for Brembo installation procedure?
I'll have to work with my local shop for the upgrade.
