I had a bike before my e93 M3. My wife has seen me drive on the winding country roads in our new city, and thus we agreed on no bike / M3 vert.

Cheers

I've noticed in a few of the comments or avatars, that a number of M3 convertible drivers are also motorcycle riders. So the question is: What's the ratio of current (or recent) motorcyclists that drive M3 convertibles?

Please, poll participation only among us 400-pounds-slower-than-everything-else owners. (You know who you are.)

I've riding for 3 years and got an S1000RR about three months back.

Sticking with BMW's....

Sweeeet machine!

I will try a BMW motorcycle sometime in the next couple of years as I look to replace the Honda ST1100. I've owned 16 motorcycles/dirt-bikes since age 8, and most have been Honda's because I've liked the ergonomics and design over the Kaw and Suz....however, I had a chance to sit on a S1000RR a few weeks ago and...that bug is nibbling at me now!

It's an incredible machine. I was on the verge of getting an 1199S, but the S1000RR is the best all-around 1000cc super-sport on the market. Hands down it is the best bang for your buck.

Hell ! 1/4 mile in 9.95 seconds @ 148.32 mph. Whoooooooo! (it just might be faster than an E90 with the carbon fiber roof option.)

Returning to main thread now....

I love the M because I can take my wife / son when I go out. This was my main motivation to spend the $$$ on the M. I love high rpm NA machines.

(In your photo, we see a trend in vehicle color preferences, too.)

e93 m3 and an s1000rr

The s1000rr has taught me self control!

Seriously though, the car is nice, but on long winding alpine pass roads there is no contest. Once get used to that feeling of power you never want to lose it. For me the car is the practical option...
