How to Polish Mirror Stalks?
Took my car to the "detailer" this week. Highly recommended but I was disappointed with the whole job. In particular, he must have used a rag with dirt to clean the black stalks that hold the rearview mirrors onto the door. There are a ton of scratches. Is there a product/technique to remove these?
Thanks |

I would try some light polish like Meguiars 205.

on my car i like to use Swissvax cleaner fluid medium by hand with an applicator pad. it has a slight bit of cut, and also fills in scratches lightly. Then follow that with wax of course.

This is the exact reason I bought the matte black Euro side mirror housings. The stock gloss black housings scratch very easily and are a pain to fix properly. Matte = no more issues.

Eclipsis,
Did you cover your trim yet? I'm anxious to see pics of how this turns out. With the price of the Euro housings I probably won't do this. But the shadowline trim seems tough to keep right. For example, mine has a bunch of stains on it and I hear that this is common. If the combo matte window trim and mirror housing looks good I may bite the bullet and get them. I bet matte grills and gills would fit with it nicely too. Cheers.
