Hankook RS3 wheel shimmy
I just had a set of 275/35/18 RS3s mounted on a new set of 18x10 Arc8s and noticed a pretty bad wheel shimmy above 45 mph going to the track yesterday. I thought it was a balancing issue, so I ran to a tire shop and got it rebalanced and was off by an ounce on the front tires each, but the shimmy was still there. Still continued the day not pushing to hard and seemed fine. My stock wheels/tires don't have any shimmy, so don't think its an alignment issue.
Any one else experience this or have any thoughts? |

I experienced the same issue when the tires very cold. Once warmed up all was good to go

Could be the hub bore of the ARC8s. They're supposed to be a direct fit, but I dunno. I helped another member diagnose his vibration and we determined it had to be the wheels (ARC8). I have ARC8s and above 100mph it does shake a small amount but not enough to bother me. I think they're fantastic wheels, but I am skeptical about their hub bore fitment.

Are you positive that you seated the wheel correctly? I'd clean the hub and the back of the wheel and see if that helps.
Are you running spacers?
