ya the c6 Z06 IMO has the perfect setup. monster motor in a light weight car.

i have heard the New C7 Zo6 is predicted to out perform the C6 Zr1. and also will get a price jump. as i think they dropped the Zr1 for now.

The c7 looks very exotic for its price point. I was very shocked when I finally got to check one out in person.

The C7 is not as fast as a C6 Z06. Its close. The Z06, especially from 2011-2013 were track monsters. They had the carbon brakes, aero pkge, magnetic shocks, and later on, PTM(performance traction management) and Michelin cup tires. It put a lot of cars to shame on the track. It was, and still is, an awesome car. You have to drive one to appreciate it.

enjoy

Ah, yes. The C7 Z06 should be a monster for sure. The Z06 did out perform the GT3 rs 4.0 around the ring. However, neither the Z06 nor the ZR1 outperformed the 911 GT2 rs though. Either way the Porsche in either trim costs astronomically more than either of the versions of corvette. On the other hand; there is something huge that a lot of folks are overlooking. Lots of people that can afford these cars (corvettes, Porsches, etc.)buy them for the status & peonage that goes along with them. That is somewhere that the any model Corvette will never be able to touch the Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc. because at the end of the day it is still just a Chevrolet. One may not like it; but, this is fact. Proof in this is every middle aged woman you see driving a Corvette whom doesn't even care about the performance of the car. She simply bought it because she could and it's a "Corvette"

BTW, caveat; There is nothing wrong with a Chevrolet. I've owned more than a few of them myself. I don't have that snobbish outlook myself. I'm just conveying what I've felt and been told by others when I owned mine.

I agree with this... some people buy for badge and image regardless of what the underlying performance is. This is a fight GM will never (well, not any time soon) win. They can only hope to interest folks who don't let their purchase decision be made based on trying to inflate ego with a badge... they then have a chance in a level playing field.

Totally agree. However I would think snobs and posers would go more for a 911 Carrera or Turbo instead. I don't think they would choose a stripped down hardcore GT3RS or GT2RS. I doubt anyone who isn't a serious track rat would buy what's basically a race car with a license plate.

I saw a C7 this past weekend and it is a much better looking car in person... Specifically, the rear end. I was pleasantly surprised!

M3 can't compete with Corvette in performance (C6 or better), it never could. That said, I borrowed by buddy's Z06 for a week and I much prefer my M3 as a DD.

The C6 Z06 and C7 cannot be touched in value if performance is what you are after. Buying something other than a Corvette simply means you chose to compromise on performance/value equation.

What about GTR(not nismo)? Looks like C7 Z06 with go fast options will cost about the same as GTR. Performance should be about the same, but i think nissan is a much better daily driver.
I guess we have to wait and see how they compare head to head on the track. I will be chosing between these two.
