High Flow Cats + Mini Cats = OB2 Ready?

It's well documented that mini cats/o2 extenders do not work in our M3 but what about pairing them with HFC?

I have Akra full exhaust with HFC and have been thinking about adding mini cats like these.

I understand these will not pass visual but will the combo setup allow O2 readiness and prevent CEL?

People have passed emissions with o2 extenders / spark plug defoulers

It won't keep a CEL from ever coming on but you should pass readiness with the stock tune

I have that with a Dinan Midpipe and some extensions. They work really well and I haven't had a check engine light in months.

So I have some insight on this. I run an aFe HFC X-pipe, and I was hoping to never trip the CEL. Well, I did, randomly. So initially I was going to order what the OP mentioned, but I never could get a hold of anyone to order them (you need the 45 degree vice the 90 and to get that you have to call and special order). After several attempts, I gave up.

After continuing my search, I found this: https://www.urotuning.com/products/u...iABEgI4CPD_BwE

They are $40 each, so $80 for the pair. They were super-easy to install, but you have limited room due to the O2 sensor, which is why a 90 degree will NOT work. Also, these were really solid and good quality.

Since the install, I have not triggered a CEL. So this might be something you want to try.
