PFC Direct Drive Rotors and OEM Pads - Compatible?

For Direct Drive Rotor use with OEM calipers:

1. Can you use the OEM pads for street use with the DD rotors or do they have clearance issues with the rotor hats?

2. Are there any downsides to using these or are they really an upgrade with no compromises?

No down side, they are made from direct replacement of oem rotors

I think there was a fitment issue with one of the E46 versions, but no issues with E9x DD rotors.

As far as downsides go, I suppose cost could be considered one, since the OEM rotors are really sturdy and robust units. Some people will get bent out of shape since PFC doesn't make a matching dimpled rear rotor, so you'd be running dimpled front PFCs and OEM cross-drilled rears. I didn't find it noticeable at all and I'm flagrantly OCD. The other thing I've noticed with E9x PFC DD v2 rotors is an odd whirring type of noise they make when driving around. It's not really bothersome but the sound is different -- don't know how else to explain it.

if you track, they're as close to an upgrade without compromises as you're going to get

they are expensive, but they're massively more durable than OEM rotors and than some aftermarket BBK rotors, like Stoptech
