Akrapovic E92 M3 Exhaust Owner's Thread

Fellow Akrapovicians,

Just would like to compile a list of Akrapovic owners here. Seems good to have a thread like this to see how many of us actually have the system and where you mates are from.
I'll start with myself.

1. elmariachi - SINGAPORE

Who you get it from? thats a pretty good price. How loud is this exhaust guys? I think this is probably the best looking one out of the bunch.

This exhaust is not loud at all. Its very similar to stock but perhaps about 30-40% louder. A lil more bassy but to me, there is no drone at all. But the gains on this exhaust is really something. I never seen the car rev so much effortlessly before I put it in.

I was asking for the M6 system without adapters here:

http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=261481

They quoted me $5.800 plus shipping - that is more than $600 difference, if I would need the adapters - can that be folks? What is going on here?

BTW, the latest Bonalume lambda simulators aren't working, I got a CEL 3 days after installation, the idrive actually says "Increased Emissions". Akrapovic is aware of this and working on a solution, it only affects US cars.

Hows the resonance in low rpms. From say 1.5 to 3K, does it hum thru it everytime you rev thru this range?

Minimal. I would say its just a tad more than the stock exhaust system. But believe me, there is much more to gain that this if minimal drone is a big issue. The car has become more torquier in the mid range and on WOT, I can actually feel the car squat and launch into hyperspace. There is a very connected feeling with the engine because you feel that the car can breathe so much easier as you rip thru the RPM. I feel I have to shift faster now and adjust because the time it requires to hit 8k rpm has drastically reduced. Even with normal driving for that matter. Its as though the car has another 1000cc now. I dare say that based on butt feel, the claims by Akrapovic is abt spot on. I am going to get a dyno done soon. My car has been tuned and my tuner has increased the threshold of the O2 sensors. So far for the last 3 days, no CEL at all. When he pass by again, he will fine tune it on road with me.
