The E46 M3 had a forged option, just like the e9x M3 does and the e46 CSL came with a cast wheel.

Its just history repeating.

I got the info from the official GTS thread, which was started by savage.ulm1 and updated by LeMans_Blue_M. Link below:

Regarding this point, forum member Mark's M is ordering a one-off Competition Package M3 and has been working with BMW fairly extensively to get his order right, and based on the info he's been getting from BMW, he suspects that the 359M wheel is lighter than our 220M wheel, even though they are a cast wheel.

We should have all of this information firmed up in a couple of weeks as we get closer to Geneva.

Wow. I'd get this package just for the wheels and springs.

Only if they offered different exterior colors, this package would be much better.

Are CUP+ tires even still available?

Best regards,
south
is anyone thinking the e46 zcp looks more expensive. this looks like a Rep somehow. Maybe it is different in real life, but in pic atleast that's how I feel about it.

What was the situation with the E46 Comp wheels? Forged or Cast and how did they compare?

Sorry for all the questions but I want to believe the Comp wheels will be a better wheel till i hear differently.
it is probably cast wheel. reason why it is lighter is because the spoke are really thin compare to the stock oem 19. it is no way strong as the oem 19 forged.

same go for the the e46 oem 19 and zcp. oem 19 is forged, heavy, but very strong. zcp lighter, but no way as strong.

i hit some huge pot holes with my oem 19 and damaged the tires, but the wheel were perfectly straight

More information:

1. I've leaned on BMW NA hard, and they are willing to provide me with the M3 GTS Tire Sizes for my ZCP M3.

2. While Mark M3 was the last person IN THE WORLD(!!!!) to obtain the Black Trim Package, it will be offered as a dealer-installed accessory option once MY2011 vehicles are delivered...

3. Wheels are confirmed as cast (boo -- since even my winter wheels will be forged). Since I'll be one of the first 2011 ZCP M3'ers, I'll post wheel weights for you while I'm having those puppies powdercoated Flat Black.

What does this mean, exactly? I assume you are talking about interior trim and not exterior trim, right? So, is this the high gloss black plastic trim or the piano black wood trim? Either way, I had no idea that either one was no longer being offered as a factory option anywhere in the world. Why is that?

Oh no -- I mean the Blackout Exterior Trim specific to the M3 Edition Model...

I ordered and made the downpayment for my 2001 M3 and have until tomorrow for april production. It is a E92 M3, ZCP,M-DTC ,Carbon fiber roof and carbon fiber leather interior trim. I have until tomorrow 12 eastern to decide on the exterior and interior and interior color. I loved the Space Gray +fox red but thanks to MarM got a photoshop of Jet Black and individual platin interior. If you have any opinion please let me know. By the way the the dealer told me that for my country the 19' 259M were in Gunmetal. Same as the standard 18

255/35f and 285/30r

Note that the ZCP w/ 359M has the same tire sizes as our 220M wheels.

still not satisfied :S. Should i spend my money on OEM 19s and EDC or get the zcp? I'm in Canada btw. I believe it's slightly different here. OR get the 18s for winter use only and get some 19"OEMs on ebay ??? I don't know what to do....total frustration

M Models M3 Packages/Options

M3 E90/E92: The Competition Package is added at a retail price of $2,500. The package further enhances the highly responsive chassis by installing 19” wheels with greater offset for a wider track, and a 10mm lower suspension.
Guys - "greater" offset means NARROWER track. ZCP cars have 4mm NARROWER track not wider... I do not get it... WAIT, I do. Wheels are wider, so the offset tucks them in by 2mm, but they are probably 12mm wider... now I get it.

Sorry to resurrect this old thread (again), but as I start to look for dedicated track wheels and am comparing specs to the various OEM offerings, I noticed this too. But you were actually right the first time; the higher positive offset means ZCP would indeed have a 4mm NARROWER track than non-ZCP, and the wider wheels don't change that fact because track width is measured from the CENTER of the wheels, not the outsides. Unless the hub mounting point was moved farther out, when comparing track width, offset is the only thing that matters.

ZCP wheels DO however have the effect of pushing the outside edge of wheels 4.35 mm farther out toward the fender because the wheels are 12.7 mm wider overall (6.35 mm on each side of the centerline) and the higher positive offset only takes them in by 2 mm. But nevertheless, track width is actually narrower, so going back and reading the press release now I'm really surprised BMW is claiming "greater offset for a wider track". Unless the hub mounting point was moved farther out, that's just plain false -- and even if it was, the resulting wider track wouldn't be due to the greater offset.
