I drove one in sport plus mode at around 150 mph through long sweeping turns and it was a bit too bouncy for me. Driving it again in comfort setting felt a lot more controlled.

Then explain my 170mph?

Can anyone post a video on this? 150mph +

One time where it's a good idea to get out of comfort mod is on a road with big dips. The car get's very floaty in comfort mode. Normal mode cleans that up very nicely. Sport was a little harsh with no added stability I could tell.

There are may roads like this in the western US, notably in the area of Death Valley.

Get going too fast on some of these roads however and you probably catch air regardless of the suspension setting.

Comfort or normal. I prefer normal. Some bridge expansion joints are hell at 140+ on the autobahn @ sport.

Sport mode all the time, on everything except the worst roads. Coming from an S2000, even the Sport setting seems soft.

I drove with it on Comfort and Normal and it was fine up to 140 or so with a 3 passengers and luggage.

I did end up hitting 161+ indicated when the limiter kicked in. I don't remember what setting I used. It was probably Normal or Sport.

"Normal" gives much better stability in crosswinds, than "Comfort", meaning less need for small steering corrections at high speeds.

Generally, though I use "Comfort", because it is more relaxing on long motorway journeys.

I have yet to find a setting that's not stable, even at speed. Sport feels better on the track but it's not really any faster.

When I drove the Autobahn in May I found the normal setting was quite comfortable yet controlled. I was doing 200 - 220 km/h. In the speed limited sections I went back to comfort.

I used to use the stiffest settings for daily use. As time progressed, I grew an appreciation for the more "comfort" settings. They adapt well to almost any condition.

IMO the only option worth programming for daily use is MDM for some fun tail kicks once in awhile.

Normal all the time but the Autobahn are way way better than our hway here. You will rarely feel the junction point.

So 271 kmh = 168 mph (assuming my math is correct). But given the speedometer issues, how, fast were you really going?

You're correct. But to be more precise, limiters are ALWAYS BASED ON INDICATED SPEED. Most european automakers agreed to limit their cars to 250 kph, which translates to 155.4 mph.

There's no such agreement on high-performance models, and BMW chose to limit M cars to 270 kph, which translates to 167.8 mph. And that's exactly where mine comes in, with the digital speedo bouncing between 167 and 168. With my 4 to 5% error with 19s, it's about 160 actual speed. Good day.

i tried all of them. the autobahn is so smooth for most cases it just depends on what you prefer. make sure to check your tire pressures regularly though…and i mean with a real gauge. on the ring, firmest setting is too firm unless maybe just on gp track. normal seems best all around though.
