Ferrari California vs M3 which is faster in real world?

Both V8 engine. FR.

M3 414hp/295lbft
Cali 460hp/357lbft

what is the power to weight ration between the two?

The Cali is quite a heavy car, But the torque feels stronger but how about in real world performance?

Thanks for any inputs!

Dont really know the answer but I do plan to find out. My doctor ordered a california (silver/tan) gets it in 1 week. I've been busting his chops for months now. Im sure we'll have some answers on this soon. I keep asking him why he ordered the female ferrari. Kept telling him, "you do know they sell cars for men too?" I may eat my words soon.

An interesting comparo but I would wager on the Cali.

My e92 hasn't arrived yet so I am speaking from a pure outsiders perspective (other than the test drives).

OP: let us know if you get to drive the car

The California only weighs 3825, not a whole lot heavier than the M3. Plus if you're talking about the e93, the weights are pretty much the same then. No contest for the Ferrari

I had a tool in a red Cali sunday on the 101 trying to race me. He kept coming up to me and revving his motor. I just waved at him and gave him no attention. He floored it and took off didn't seem to jaw dropping quick to me but i am not an expert. It was a big car and it was also a nice sounding/good looking car

From Civics to LF-As. Neither has gotten me to race them.

Keep up the good work showing people M3 owners aren't asshats.

exactly not worth hurting yourself or others for 3 seconds of racing.

Not a fan of the California's styling, really.

Haha...that sounds familiar. Twice last week I was taking my son to school and going just a nudge above the speed limit but watching traffic so I was catching all the free space and making good time. Both times some tool in a sports car (one was a Z06 and the other an older Viper coupe) would see me go by and then start trying to race... doing a ricer fly-by and then slowing down again so I kept having to get back around them when they'd get stuck in slower traffic since they weren't looking 5 feet past the end of their cars.

The whole time these super tough guys thought they were racing me my little boy is in the back seat talking about robots as we listen to Sinatra

M3 = Curb weight 2,865 lb & HP 414 ..... Nordschleife Time 08:05.00 (M3 Coupe 0-60 in 3.9 sec)

Ferrari California = Curb weight 3,825 lb & HP 460 ..... Nordschleife Time 7:56.00 (0-62 under 4 seconds)

So let's give it to the Ferrari California what's 4 minutes amongst friends

Happens quite often ... I just let them go by and smile to myself. I know what I have under the hood and what it can do, no need to prove it to anyone Love Sinatra also, much more fun to listen to him rather then some ambulance

I hope this is a typo.

Anyway, Motor Trend reviewed both the Ferrari California and M3 Coupe DCT.

California/M3

60-0mph in 100ft/104ft
0-60mph in 3.5s/4.1s
0-100mph in 8.6s/9.7s
Lateral G of 0.99g/0.94g

Threads like this aren't helping me keep my car NA. What I'd give to see the look on their face when the SC starts ripping.

I would guess that a Ferrari California owner would not give a rat's ass about your M3 or you supercharger.

This thread is like asking "Is a Seiko more accurate than a Patek Phillipe"

Oh for sure. I'd still trade him but it'd still be sweet.

And for the record the Seiko is probably about as accurate.
