iDrive Software Upgrade Bluetooth Audio Streaming

I have a June 2008 Pre-LCI E92 M3. Can the iDrive software be upgraded on it to allow audio streaming via Bluetooth? Also the USB interface under the armrest doesn't recognise my iPhone to allow me to play music via that either....

I don't think so. 2 options that work are usb thumb drive filled with mp3's or tune2air adapter that will give you factory style bluetooth audio streaming

I've done both. Let me know if you need a hand

No you will need more hardware etc. Easiest is to get a Y cable (I have one btw) or use a tune2air was above.

No you need BMW Combox hardware to get bluetooth audio streaming. Cheaper to get a tune2air.

Thanks guys, any more info on the tune2air? Can it be used in conjunction with the cars Bluetooth functionality? Does it displays music library on the idrive display?

Yes your phone will connect to the car for phone calls and the tune2air for mp3 streaming at the same time. It's seamless

Mine used to display track info etc but isn't at the moment so I control it from the phone

Tune2air works well however a few random issues from time to time. Often fixed by disconnecting/reconnecting and/or pair/unpair bluetooth cycle. HTH
