Servicing/Maintenance Perth
Hi Guys,
Just picked up a 2008 Jerez Black DCT M3. Just wondering who you would recommend for Servicing/Maintenance around Perth? Also I will be looking a getting it detailed in the future so would appreciate any recommendations on where to get this done also? Cheers |

I use and recommend Josh at Galvsport (Msport) to do all scheduled maintenance and repairs http://www.galvsport.com/
I have used and recommend Des at AutoFx for paint correction work https://www.facebook.com/AutoFXWA/?fref=ts

2dr or 4dr? I've seen a clean E90 jerez cruising around my area lately
I use Jesse @ EuroTechnik for my M3 as it's close to home, have also used Josh @ Galvsport for my project car. Have not used Des @ AutoFX but heard raving reviews for detailing. Also http://www.manndetailing.com/ are supposed to be excellent. |

I have the BMR H8 LEDs in mine and am happy with them. They are certainly great value, are bright enough to keep me happy and look a lot better than stock. I gather the LUX versions are hugely popular and they are brighter if you have them side-by-side with the BMR ones. At extra cost.

I've got the bmr ones on my e87. Find that the outer rings not as bright as the inner.
Used bm techniks at Bayswater too. Used to go to Ramp automotive at malaga but mate and I both had problems with them. |

The LED shines down the plastic light pipe as does the 35 watt lamp to give a white effect instead of a yellow (3000K) input. The limitations are in the optics of the OE light rings and getting a 10 watt LED to give the same light output as a 35 watt halogen bulb. These aftermarket systems are better than OE but still don't come close to a full ring replacement with multiple LEDs around the ring rather than a conductive light path, but as always cost comes into it. The better quality the LED and heatsink the better the result. The LEDs have a long service life over a traditional halogen lamp but will fail if the thermal bonding between the LED and heatsink is not a good design. This is the primary cause of LED failure, it needs proper heatsinking or it will fail. The alternative is a xenon kit with inverters which have a very high power pure white (6000K) xenon lamp shining into the light pipe. The side effects of these kits though are yellowing of the internal plastics due to heat and UV emissions, poor sealing of the access caps and failure of the inverters. They are a good short term solution but in the end will cause yellowing of the internal plastics if they don't fail in the meantime. The ultimate is the OSS design concept which replaces the rings and is expensive, but looks amazing. One of our local members has experience doing this, but its a big job. |

Des from Auto FX and Ryan from Kustom Koncepts for detailing. Also one of my Lux led keeps flickering, installed them 2-3 years ago.

Picked up some Lux H8 160's and fitted during the week. Big improvement over the OEM look! The only think is they don't fade out when going off, they flicker?
