Advice on ATS Superlights/Tire sizes 19inch

Looking into getting these wheels from Europe. Would the following offsets be too aggressive (particularly front) and what tires sizes would work:

F: 9.0x19 ET 20
R: 10.0x19 ET 20

Thx in advance

OEM ZCP wheels have the following specs:

F: 9.0x19 ET 31
R: 10.0x19 ET 25

People run 12 mm spacers front and rear fairly regularly (effective front offset of et19 and rear offset of et13). See this thread:
http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthr...ghlight=spacer

I would stick with 255/35/19 & 275/35/19 tires. The front may rub a little on the back of the fender liner at full lock.

I mentioned in that thread that I rub in back with just 10mm spacers on stock size 265/40R18 PSS tires lowered on KW V3. With ZCP wheels, you will rub like crazy. So take what people say with a grain of salt.

You must not have any negative camber. I ran 12mm spacers on my OEM 18" wheels/tires without problems on two different M3's (one with Eibach springs and one with KW Clubsports).

Keep in mind that ZCP wheels are wider which will stretch tires more than your 9.5" wheels.

I have also ran 295/30/19 tires on 10" et25 wheels without rubbing. I tried 5mm spacers with those wheels/tires (effective et20) and they did rub slightly (again with 295 tires). That was with KW clubsports and yokohama AD08's which run very wide. I don't recommend 295's on a 10" wheel.

Lastly the OP is asking about 10" et20 wheels which is very different from 10" et13 (ZCP wheel with a 12mm spacer). The OP will not have any issues with 275's on 10" et20 wheels.

I didn't shoot from the hip on my recommendation.... I sent the OP the thread as an example of how he could have figured this out on his own. I could have just said "do a search" but I decided to be more helpful.

I have -2.5 degrees of rear negative camber. I was rubbing even with maxed out rear camber (-2.75). The only fix was to remove the spacer or cut the rear fender liner. The shop tested this by disconnecting the rear shock and compressing the wheel upward with a floor jack. The wheel contacts the fender liner.

I will say that it rarely rubbed on normal street driving but it was rubbing badly on track and cutting the tire sidewall. Also the PSS is wider/more square than the stock PS2 which did not rub.

So no, I can not recommend any spacer 10mm or bigger if you are running non-stock tires and is lowered unless you want to modify your fender liner.

Interesting. Your situation seems very odd, especially with that much camber. It just doesn't add up for me. Are you positive your spacer was 10mm? I could see this happening with a 15mm spacer. Also testing with a disconnected shock doesn't seem like a good method. How can you be sure your suspension geometry was consistent with one of the key components disconnected? I think I could make anything rub if I removed the shocks.... Not trying to insult.

I had the shop help me find where it was rubbing after I noticed the rubbing. They did it that way to find out. The suspension geometry is the same as the wheel/brake assembly is held on by the arms. Disconnecting/removing the shock just allows the wheel to move more freely since it is not compressing the shock.

As for why mine rubs, I have no idea. I mentioned this in another thread and others have mentioned they have rubbing problems too.

Interestingly, I contacted ATS and they said that there would definitely be rubbing with the Superlight 9.0x19 ET 20 front wheels. They actually had a customer with that issue on their M3 with the wheel who ended up widening the front fenders. May be the case with certain tire combo that there would be some rubbing, but nice to see them be honest and not try to make the quick sale. Too bad, as they are really nice wheels.

Thx again.
