Vid + PIC of Dyno Results from FULL Tecnocraft ENVY INTAKE System

Hey guys,

So here is the dyno results i promised. There's a good and bad about this dyno.

Let me first point out that, yes, this dyno maybe skewed because i did NOT dyno a stock dyno and an after dyno ON THE SAME DAY! yes i know it is NOT that accurate but imo, its good enough for me.

So, the bad. I LOST 5whp. Yes sir. LOST. SUCKS!!!! I had 310whp before. Now its dynoing about 305whp

Stock Dyno results:

Stock dyno thread: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=337047

After Dyno results:

Videos:

Now the GOOD! Gintani was pretty puzzled by this as well so, Alex decided to pull out the A/F ratio while he was dyno'ing and his gut was right. YEAHHH for ALEX!! Stock A/F is 14.1 ish and now my A/F is around 12 ish:

Sooo, its fixable! PHEW!!! So, now the question is how much will this ENVY gain with a TUNE?!?! I dont think i can answer that question cause ill probably be getting a tune after my exhaust. i hope someone steps up and does it tho. Im guessing tecnocraft will

So yea, its not what i expected but meh! BUT!!! The WHOLE system looks SICK!!!!! I got the headlight covers and the left passenger cover as well.

Again, Thanks to ERIC@PYSPEED and KING@TECNOCRAFT for getting me these piece so quickly so i could have them this past weekend for WEKFEST!

Wow, so does that mean those who decide to get the full envy without a tune will lose power?

No...this is the first ive heard of that lost power. Personally my car gained about 18 HP before a tune. We also did my dyno, after putting about 2k miles on the envy system, with the stock system right before the envy system on the same day.

HP the engine puts out is different than HP to the wheels.

There is a loss of HP from engine to the rear tires.

Thumbs up Damn M3 Lin, I had the most CF under the hood until you came along

Your M3 looks good under the hood Sorry about the loss in HP WTF. I only have the Envy Charger pipe with RPI scoops to suck in air. Your M3 looks under the hood . But don't worry, I won't go out and buy more CF for under the hood to catch up ........

isn't 25% loss a little excessive of an estimate for a rwd car?

Thanks for posting Ed, appreciate the feedback (Engine bay looks great - almost the same as mine lol - except all CF for me)

I assume A/F is a result of the increased size of manifold? I will have to dyno mine soon and check the A/F as well. I have a tune and exhaust so I wonder what the difference might be.

ALL dynos read different and the ideal way of testing this system would have been same day before and after....15-20% is generally whats expected 25% seems high...but like i said dynos arent the same and you will have to consider ALL variables

This is in the wrong forum. Losing power is absolutely ridiculous for spending that kind of money. I would be pissed. They should tell you that it needs a tune to work properly, if at all.

looking at your pictures the dynos where done 2 months apart. 5 whp difference can be accounted for many different factors. Try dynoing the car stock, leave it on the rollers strapped the same exact way, put in the intake and then dyno.

Why is your axis points totally different from your stock run and your second run 2 months later?

Your car looks Sick Man. Love the Intake but losing 5hp with it? That Freaking sucks! I guess just installing the CAI does NO GOOD without any software... Once you plug the CAI with Exhaust and some Software, You will be Golden!!!

GoodLuck!

yes, i agree. I already pointed that out in my first post. Thanks for reiterating it.

Because we found out that the A/F was OFF, so i was way too annoyed to get alex to do a Final dyno chart. If you want the right axis, there's another pic that i did that has the right axis.

Thanks for all the comments. I love my intake. It should gain power once i tune. So, im okay with that!
