Don't know

I can see the word "Motorsport" on larger pictures. I'll see if I can find it.

CH-Rs only come in 20s, and it's a cast wheel.

Both the CH-R's and the CH's are cast wheels. The CH-R is supposed to come out in 19's as well soon I believe.

So I think we all agree on the CH in 18" on the "concept car" but these wheels look a little different on the customer cars. Much more "CSL" style.

The wheels that are on the GT4 are not the wheels that come with the car. They look to be BBS Magnesiums-RE. Very rare wheels. The wheels that are on the official BMW press release car are indeed BBS CH, but prob in a special offset and sizing.

Good eye, but I must make a slight correction...

The 'CSL like' wheel in the linked photos are indeed RE mag wheels.

But it's important to note that BBS builds two different RE Magnesium wheels:

BBS MOTORSPORT (race wheel division) builds a version called the Forged Magnesium RE monobloc. It's a no-frills, very lightweight racing wheel. The wheel finish is not even clear coated. (silver paint base coat)

These are 7-spoke racing wheels that are recommended for track use only, and the only wheel diameter available is 18". The offsets can be custom built to order, but they cost a mint. (approx. $2300-$3000 per wheel) It all depends on the application, and the number of wheels ordered. There are a few 'standard' wheel fitments available, but you will have to pay the high end of the scale for a single set.

The BBS RE Magnesium street wheel has 10-spokes (slightly different design), and are recommended for street use. These come in 28 different sizes for 18", 19", and 20" wheel diameters. They cost from $1000-$1750 per wheel. This type does have a clear coated finish by the way.

Street version of the RE-Magnesium wheel:

Interesting...

If these wheels are being sourced from BMW, and not directly from BBS MOTORSPORT, then they are not BBS RE magnesium wheels after all.

And certainly not at that price point...

This optional OE wheel application is using the same design as the Forged Magnesium racing monobloc wheels, while using a more cost effective flow-formed cast (BBS trade name spun-cast) aluminum process.

That's why the wheel upgrade cost is so low...

1,180EU = ~$1675USD so anyone know where we can get a set?

Cheers

Congrats, you can convert Euros to U.S. dollars.

Not sure what that supposed to tell me...I do that kind of thing on a daily basis.

Anyway, these cool ALUMINUM E9x wheels are going to be an exclusive BMW wheel property. (at least for the time being).

Just got off the phone with a contact at BBS Motorsport, and apparently BMW approached BBS to build this wheel specifically for the GT4.

There is no equivalent BBS Motorsport wheel in this size and width for the BMW E9x cars. (through BBS directly)

That means this is 'technically' a BMW OE E9x M3 wheel application. (only available through BMW Motorsport parts)

BBS cannot even sell you this wheel, because they are not allowed. (not yet anyway)

I contacted the Director of the BBS Motorsport division as well, and I asked him about these wheels. It's too late to find out anything this week, but I should hear something back about these on Monday or Tuesday of next week.

If I can get the assigned (BBS/BMW) OE wheel manufacturing part numbers, then you should be able to order these wheels directly through BMW Motorsport. (in theory)

I just hope there isn't a damn road block (restriction) placed on these wheels, like BMW has on the CSL parts. That will make them much harder to get, and drive the price of these wheels through the roof.
