Volk Racing wheels (Summer 2011)
I see a lot of vendors running clearance specials on TE37, G2 and other beautiful wheels from Volks these days (vivid, sonic, eas...).
It seems like now they're finally in the affordable price range and I may pull the triggers for a set. But since so many vendors are running special clearance sales, I was thinking if they're going to release many new wheels or update current (kinda like LCI?) or not. Especially they're not doing clearance on Volk's new TE37SL, I'm really thinking they may have a new major updates. Does anyone know more about this? Reason for massive clearance or any new major product update in pipeline soon? Help poor fella to make decisions.

Making the te37sl any better seems impossible but then again I don't
Know too much about rims to make that call. I'm planning on picking up a set soon! |

Clearance sales are probably due to stock levels and the fact that we're getting into the latter half of the summer, so fewer people will be looking to buy. |

the clearance is on wheels that have been in stock for a long time and it is just a way to clear out old stock for some of the newer wheels, like the Volk G12, TE37SL, RE30 Clubsport and so on.

How is your car performing with those 18" wheels compared to the stock ones? Which stock ones did you have? Did you see a major difference in performance after going with the 18" T37 SL wheels? |

Just pull the trigger on the Volk G2's that you have always loved
You will not be disappointed! You can always get the new set Volk comes out with whenever that happens!

My car came with the 19" stock wheels. In terms of performance, I think i've gained a fair amount of traction. Running 295 in the rear and 265 up front, the car feels a lot more planted in the corners. I don't know if its a confidence/placebo effect or a function of the traction, but there are several corners on my local track that i'm taking 3-4KPH faster than on the stock setup. That being said, my setup does understeer more than stock as well.

I think you'll be fine. Look at TE37's. The G2's (a.k.a. TE37 Generation2) have been out for a while now, but the TE37's still sell like hotcakes as a crowd favorite. I think the most important thing is to get a wheel that you'll be happy with, not the wheel that is the newest thing.
I'm going to try to nab a pair of RE30's soon myself. I know that the RE30 ClubSports are out, but I hate polished lips and the bronze RE30's that my friend told me about sure did get my attention.... Quote:

Oh, I forgot to mention one other major plus. The TE37 is one of the few 18" wheels that will clear a 380mm Brembo kit.

I'm sad, because I love the TE37, and I like it's look in 19 way more than the TE37 SL. Dunno why. |
