Any preference on M3 tires with least amount of road noise?

I was wondering if there were any ideas on lowering road noise via tire selection? I have the optional 19" wheels and have them on Michelin PS2, but they make quite a bit of road noise. Anyone have this problem and changed to another tire and gotten better results?

+1... amazing performance tire when comfort/sound is important to you.

PS2 is generally on the quieter side of performance tires. Are they worn funny or anything?

As noted by shift and gthal, the new PSS are great, although I'm not sure if you'll find them to be a whole lot quieter, maybe somewhat quieter.

Continentals tend to be pretty quiet for performance tires, though not as crisp handling as the Michelins.

Thanks for your response.

They are pretty worn in the rear. That may be part of the reason for the noise. I just got the 08 M3 and was coming off of a 08 335CiC which had the sport package with 18" wheels and I believe 40 series tires and there wasn't much road noise. Maybe the 35 series on th M3 could also explain part of the noise?

The taller tires may have slightly less impact noise when hitting expansion joints, but would not have much effect on rolling noise. Noise when rolling is mostly about the tread pattern and width. So the wider width (assuming the 335 was stock) could be playing a role, along with the wear on the rears.
