Props to Long Tran

Just had my H&R springs installed on my new E90 M3 (pics to come) by Long Tran. Just want to say he's a great guy. Fast and reasonably priced service. Best part was chatting with him about our cars from back in the day. I've had items installed by him on my 335i and now my M3. Would highly recommend him to anyone in the So Cal.

Thanks Long.

when it comes to long the question of how much is not really important. when i first joined E90post in 07 i used to consider distance from home, and cost. after i was in a very nasty situation and he helped me delaying his trip to NorCal, i started sensing that he's not a vendor or a mechanic, he's a true car enthusiasts that does care about your cost, and about your car. even if shit happens, he will definitely get your back, and take care of you and make sure you are happy.

when you go, you wont look back! honesty and integrity is a rare commodity that i think is more important than anything...

having said that... long doesnt really make money off of parts, and he doesnt have the overhead of a shop, so he's always cheaper anyway....

He charged me something very cheap for my install(and i was last minute)...
and i asked the man, hey long why you charging so cheap....charge more man for everyone...

and he said y? dude im just here to take care of you guys...not really about the money...

after that i had a different kind of respect for the man.

If you buy from him, do the parts have a warranty?

I know his service is great, but I'd like a warranty too.

Hey Long - based on this thread alone, it pretty much sounds like you're the man and I know I've seen your name pop up a bunch of other times, always saying something good.

I want to get some H&Rs installed (I'm in OC) - please send me a PM when you get a chance and we'll get it set up.

he gets OEM parts, or parts from certified dealers. what you dont get, and i've been trying to tell you, is long is NOT a vendor, he's NOT a shop. he's a car enthusiast. what that entails is Long will get your back and treat your car like it's his, and will treat your problems like they're his.

What you don't seem to get is, he's now a board sponsor and made a post saying he's opening up shop.
I'm not sure what he means by that, like if he has a business licence, insurance, tax ID number or he may be a sole proprietor, but he made it sound like he's now a business. LTBMW, or something like that.

Well, he stands by the work he does on your car. He is just a guy that loves to work on cars. If a part is defective in anyway, he will do what he can to fix it. If you break it, he will try to fix it if possible. He has developed great relationships with various sources in the local automotive industry, so he is able to obtain and provide parts along with installs for other members on here at great rates/prices.

Of course, somethings are out of his control...so I can't say things will go perfect 100% of the time. But he will make sure he can do what he can to fix the problem, as if it was his own car.

Yes, he has now obtained vendor status---but I think it has to be that way in order for him to continue providing parts/services to the community while keeping other vendors from crying about him being competition (if he did not pay vendor fees.)

Now, if having an official policy regarding warranty claims from a big business/vendor is very important to you, more than just word of mouth from the local community----then you should definitely go with another vendor that can provide that.

Long helped me when I had issues with the M-tech kit install on my 335 and I live in Washington. He forwarded some info to the installer. Great guy to help me out as we have never met.
