fyi, Imran sent me a pm about the exhaust, not a price on the SC kit.

I'm sure evolve has a a fair amount of work to go before we get the pricing details. I was just bugging imran to try and alleviate the huge case of blue balls I have for this kit.

Intercooler core finally arrived this week after a huge delay (has held up the whole project). Fabrication is in progress - when its done we will start testing the 2 air box designs we have to see which one works best in reality.

what's up with the intercooler core; is it 5".. why the need for something so big, when a smaller one would prob work just as well. The pipe routing is short and the bar and plate is pretty efficient

Maybe they provide one that big so later on if you want to upgrade it will be sufficient for larger boost levels? I don't know.

So far, all of the SC kits on the market don't have any distinct advantages over the others (they're all pretty much the same IMO). This one, however, is going to be the best, hands down!

Very good question! My understanding is that Evolve is striving to provide the most consistent power-providing kit possible, but I would also like to hear their reasoning behind using this specific intercooler.

No price or tentative release dates announced just yet. All I know is that it seems well worth waiting for, so an individual can take a look at all available kits and choose the one to their best liking. It'll be great to see how this stacks up against the other top-notch kits.

Updates are coming...

That intercooler design is one of many.

If may not be the final iteration, we may use something completely different.

We will be using the core which gives us the best overall flow and lowest IAT under various conditions.... especially those where the engine spends alot of time at high RPM. Pressure drop and running the blower at it's best efficiency level also make it into the equation. So a difficult balancing act.

We already know how sensitive these engines are to temperature so our aim will be to keep the inlet temps as low as physically possible.

What our testing has shown so far is that 5 PSi in the plenum with low temps will match 8 PSi with high temps (simple logical engineering).

Consistency will be everything here.

We are not interested in producing a kit which gives 560-600whp for a few pulls on the road. Much better is a kit that can produce 530whp consistently.

What we do know from our other projects is that end users hate it when they get inconsistent performance. You put your foot down once and it's...wow! Then do it a few more times and you are sourly dissapointed.

Will update you all this week or next week latest.

I'm planing on going FI by end of November... before i fork 8k for ESS, I would love to know if this system will be available by then? I want to be able to compare and make sure i get the right kit so i don't kick myself later because i didn't wait for this one to come out...

Also, I know pricing is not anounced... but i'm curious if the one you provide will be int he Vt1-535 price range or the other larger kits?

Thanks
