Window Tint/Comfort Access
Search is not my friend....
Ceramic or non-ceramic window tint if I don't want problems with my comfort access or radio? It seems like there's no consensus on the matter. I think the shops around here carry just one type of film each, so I may just go with the one that has 3M. We can at least agree that non-metallic is preferred, right? Thanks. |

yes non-metallic will be the way.... probably the best is ceramic... non-ceramics mostly are metallic film if you want to get some kind of heat reflection.... so yeah

I have 3M metallic tint on a Hyundai and CA works flawlessly, just like without (not one hiccup in a year). Have 3M ceramic tint on the M3 and half the time doesn't recognize the key in my pocket, just like before. It's NOT the tint IMO ; it's the POS system (antenna location, too low power... who knows). Usually hitting the 'start' button again works, but sometimes it takes 3, or pulling the damn key out of my pocket and putting it close to the button. Same thing on the outside; I have to literally put my pocket right on the handle for the car to recognize it. And I have the most powerful battery I found in there, with 3.34V (most have 3.10 at best). Oh well.
