Please help identify broken cables

Hi all,

Noticed a low humming coming from the rear of my M3 today, louder at higher speeds, so I went to take a look under the rear end and found these two cables of some sort broken on both sides. I'm hoping someone can tell me what these are, what they are for exactly, and if they could be the cause of the noise. Also, is it just me or does the left side look intentionally cut?

Thank you all.

Probably the exhaust ground wires. You can make some new ones.
