1) stiff
2) as much as I can but not so much that the car skates
3) soft enough so the car doesn't jack down, stiff enough to control the spring rates quoted in 1.
4) -2 (though you can go to -2.7 for track time), -1.8, zero, 1/16th each side (though I'm trying a bit less than that to see what happens...)

HTH.

Guess I'll start:

1) 550F / 800 R (stock rear spring location)
2) don't know yet
3) don't know yet
4) Starting with -3F 0 toe, -2R 1/8th total toe in

I have yet to take the car to the track with this setup but I did a preliminary mountain test run. Some rough roads, I set the damper settings at 3 click from full soft (all 4 corners, both compression and reb) and the car remained composed, never skipped, and handled all the imperfections incredibly well.

Now with that said I don't drive like crazy on public roads so far it appeared the car rotated properly just as I like it, despite being on the skinny OE tires on that one run.

So everything looks promising thus far (as far as balance is concerned) but some basic/proven track settings "to start with" would be helpful. I remain mostly clueless about tuning the dampers

Didn't the vendor you bought them from have a base setting to work off of?

I bought them second hand from a private party. The original vendor I would not trust since they apparently had the previous owner's car setup with coilover rear type of spring rates in the original spring location!

So ya, I need you guys' help ^^

Maybe.

While it was posted as a joke, it does contain a significant amount of information on how to set the car up. There's a ton left out too (like actual spring rates) b/c I just don't know on the E9xM3 chassis...

maybe because most who read this aren't E9X JRZ RS PRO track guys and can't provide the specific info you are seeking.

I tend to forget this isn't anything like the E46 community

I would love to but after the last time I said never again. Took me 4-5 hours to get back to SD. Weekday traffic is terrible!

I would contact Bryan Hise at JRZ, he'll know what other people have done on e9x and is regarded as quite helpful on other platforms (so I've heard).

Thanks, I appreciate the reply.

I've actually been in contact with Bryan via email.
His replies tend be short and somewhat vague. He admittedly didn't know the difference between a helper spring and tender spring (I do ha). My last email asking about specs remains unanswered despite me following up once.
With all due respect to the COO of JRZ USA, it doesn't seem like he knows much about suspension or setup

That's surprising as I thought he had a good rep and I've heard JRZ is very much on top of their customer support (perhaps try and give him a call?).

Also, check out Bryan explaining the JRZ RS Pro's at about 3:10 in this YouTube video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4SvIcrfKG2I

I had previously decided on a JRZ suspension setup for my last car before I scrapped the plan and sold my car. Curious to hear how it goes for you as I know I'll be shopping suspensions again soon. Good luck and please keep us posted!

OP, if you are looking for recommended spring rates, do yourself a favor and calculate your optimal spring rates using your corner weights. I went though this exercise and figured out that my Nitrons had to be 450 front and 550 rear (I am switching to true rear coil over, hence the low rate). You first need to figure out what spring frequency you need to be at, I chose 2.0 hz/sec for the front and 2.2hz/sec for the rears. From there use the calculations (Eibach has a nice technical breakdown on how to do this) to determine your spring rates. I posted how to do this somewhere on the forum as well.

Hope this helps you!

Kaiv reach out to Platteforme AG / & Fall-line to get some perspectives. Both seem well versed in JRZ applications on the E9X platform and may be able to guide you in the right direction on your setup. Keep us posted!

When I tried to ask him about whether or not I should change my spring rates for my RS Two from the rates I had with my RS1s, he kept saying "if you like them then stay with them" and I did so I didn't change them. but with all due respect, he was incredibly helpful with my JRZ purchase, and he knows his stuff. You're better off calling him, because when I dealt with him his email responses were also very short, but talking with him he provides whatever you need to know.

I've been on RS Pro for 18 months or so. They have always performed well but the smartest thing I did was to get a proper height adjustment and alignment over at West End in Gardena. That totally transformed my car. My specs are:

3,746 lbs with me and 1/3 tank
Springs are 550 front 750 rear
Front -3.2 and 0 toe
Rear -2.5 and 3/32 toe in
I have absolutely zero understeer

After that I ran 1:54:08 at BRP 13CW

Hope that helps

Helps very much! Thanks! I guess a fast local tracker with the same suspension is exactly what I was looking for. Judging by that lap time I have no doubt your car is setup extremely well, not to mention you must be a hell of a driver!! When are you going back out there?
