Smile This is probably a little arrogant... but it needs to be done :)

Alright so heres the story. A few friends from high-school who moved to Georgia a few years back are OBSESSED American muscle. They're all brothers and think everything thats not American is "crap" So basically what I'm asking is to put up a shut up! In a nice way though Lets just match up the M3 to cars like Mustang Mach-1's Corvette C5's and GTO's. Lets see some statistics and some overall opinion! If you love BMW stick up for your manufacturer!!!

You haven't a prayer to change their minds no matter what you say or data you provide. Let them like what they want.

People likes what they likes. Don't try and change their mind. It will just be an exercise in futility on your part. There are those that bow and pray to the emblem on their hood, to everything Euro, Jap, American, English, Italian, etc. You will find these with EVERY manufacturer. Nothing wrong with having a "love affair" with a certain manuacturer...just have an open mind and realize that there are others out there just as good and better (perhaps not to you personally).

Yeah.

They'll only resort to "Well, that's a pu$$y car," or somesuch statement that has no refute.

Pick your fights - this isn't one of them.

maybe have them pick up a magazine??

I agree with the others that there's no way you'll change their minds. especially when you consider some of the performance heavyweights the Americans have put up recently: Z06, ZR1, CTS-V, and the Mustang 5.0 GT to name a few.

if they know their stuff, then it's worth debating with them. if they're just idiots that like what they like, forget about it. A farmer doesn't bother telling a pig his breath smells like shit.

First off I know this mentality, I had it at one point but I was like a teenager or early 20's. When you get older and you start to appreciate the finer things in life you normally have a turn around. As others have pointed out pick your battles.

Its kind of like when you are young and single, you can be somewhat progressive and liberal. Then you get married and have kids, you tend to become more conservative.

Just let it go... If they are ignorant enough to say foreign cars are "crap" then they probably don't know how to read.

If foreign cars are such crap I wonder why they have been doing so much better than domestic (at least until recently, America has stepped it up)...

Recent American muscle is really changing the game whether we want it or not. I like European cars because I don't track at the end of the day.

Track cars? GT-R's, EVO's and STi's.

Dragsters? Mustang's and Corvettes.

Why do you want to change their minds? Unless, of course, you're trying to convince yourself that the M3 is the best choice.
