Depending on where are you planning to mount the remote display in relation to the main unit, the minimum you'll need is as follows:

a) 1 x Direct-Wire Power Adapter Kit, Item 00030 https://store.valentine1.com/store/partsdept.asp

b) 1 x fuse tap

c) You'll need some RJ-11 phone cord to connect the remote display and/or the V1 to "a" mentioned above. If you want to cut custom lengths to make your own, you'll need some RJ-11 cable ends and an RJ-11/RJ-45 cable crimper.

d) Depending on mounting location, a bracket for the unit. There are a few to choose from.

And if just using the main unit, not concealed display?

If hard wiring, you'll still need everything in the list, even if you don't use the remote display. The only "meh" piece is "c", as you can buy different lengths of cord at the store. Measure where you plan to mount the main unit vs where you plan to mount "a", and buy length accordingly.

I also didn't mention solder and heat shrink, of course, to connect "a" to "b" cleanly.

Not sure why I find this confusing (bear with me) ...

The direct power kit - doesn't include the phone cord?

Plan to use the windshield mount from Valentine (Mount driver side of rear view)

Fuse tap- just regular any old fuse tap from amazon or radio shack?

My bad, it does come w/a 8' foot power cable. I'd still measure to make sure you you have enough length. As far as the fuse tap, yup http://www.amazon.com/Add-A-Circuit-...dp/B007FFG5YI/
