Revealing M3 photo

This photo almost does it for me. Was on the fence with concerns about the "bulge" and the weak front bumper. Also, was really concerned about the rear fenders not being flared enough.
I think this photo shows just how "tough" this car will look in person. It just makes the car look like a monster, really wicked. Like it knows it's gonna rape you. You can see the rear flared out too.

This has to be the front. Unfortunately, couldn't find one for the rear.

That is actually the rear tire in the photo I believe. I would guess 245s for the front if that is in fact the rear.

Looks like Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires... standard on the 997 GT-3, it's an r-compound track tire not really suitable for heavy street driving...

edit: btw, does anyone know if that is a new silver color or is it sparkling graphite (or whatever they call it now)?

I thought they looked familiar. Good gawd how I would love an e92 M3 daily and GT3 weekend car... Those are really the only cars that do anything for me right now.

You're not gonna believe this (and i'm not one to boast ) there will be a new 997 GT3 in my garage in about a month... build was completed 2 weeks ago! I will definitely post my impressions!

I have another question... the "concept M3" looks lowered to me... do you guys think this is stock ride height? It looks very nice and I hope they don't change that.....

Holy smoke! Congrats - I'm very envious! What color did you get? Definitely post your impressions. That car just makes me weak. I hope to have one at some point, maybe next-gen. Incredible car.

Rears for sure

Yes rear, easy wasy to tell is the split line angle. 265 is not wide enough with 2WD to harness 420 or so hp. I hope 295/305-ish will fit.

P.S. My prediction (way back when) was 275/35-19. Not to far off.

Hi, this is my first post here.
I just came from our dealer. He is just doing the "Ersthändlerausstattung" for the M3. That means he is ordering the dealer car for display in the showroom.
I saw some specs:
Tires back: 265/40 18"
Tires front 245/40 18"
19" are optional
CFK Roof is standard
Xenon
6 Speed manual (no DSG available at the moment)
8 Colours will be available (some grey shades, white, black and a very redish colour)
Leather is optional

As soon as I have more details I let you know.
:-))

I don't think it really absorbs them, it just doesn't reflect them. Should be fine for transmitting through.

This is not the way it worked with the E46 M3 launch ALL dealers (at least in the US) got the exact same color car, Laguna Seca Blue. I suspected that it might be white this time since Scott has mentioned that the first photo shoots for media purposed by BMW advertising were done with a white car. So either things have changed, they don't all have to be the same color in Germany, or your dealer is wrong or BS-ing.

e63/64 have composite trunk lid. Multi-freq antennas tucked up under trunk lid so nothing shows.

Don't know for the US, but in Germany you can choose the colour of the HEA cars (maybe not the full color line up). For example the M5 HEA was available in 4 colours (silver grey, black saphire, silverstone II, interlagos blue).

Best regards, south

It's Chrome Shadow - the same paint they use on the E46 M3's rims. Do a google search on it. It's pretty coool.
