Another nice one Rodny. I used to love watching the woodpeckers in my backyard . Sadly my silver maple where they lived became diseased and I had to have it cut down before it collapsed.

Thanks Dave. Yes it is always fairly windy out there, and the hawks do tend to congregate over the bluffs and hover into the headwinds. Probably saves them energy. It actually started raining a few minutes after I took this series.

Right after I get my S2 500/f4, the 100-400mm will go to the top of the wish list.

I took this first shot 7 years ago with my Panasonic Lumix FZ18. I had no idea what this alley was at the time. I just liked the old car sitting there. Earlier this week we stayed at the Casa Monica in St. Augustine, FL and drove into this alleyway to drop our car at the valet door. I was surprised to find myself here again after 7 years. This time I had a camera much more suited to nighttime photography.

For once I had Christmas day to myself, so I went out to the wildlife reservation. I think half of northern California had the same idea as it was more crowded than I have ever seen it, but I still managed to bring home a few keepers.

Great shot Ed. I haven't seen the Grey Ghost in months. I have seen his lady and a juvenile quite regularly. I wonder if the females feed the males.

I wonder if everyone was out with their new cameras and gear.

I was shooting the eagles Christmas Eve morning with several other photogs. One guy was testing out a gift to his son.

It's snowing like crazy here today. I've got several runs to the airport to make, but I hope that I can catch some wildlife in the snow tomorrow.
