WINK
Actually its the dull primer black wheels and it only gives you 5 extra RWHP................... Seriously though I think the only positive with the comp pkg if you aren't going to the track might be resale but thats yet to be seen so like my dear old Dad use to say.... You pay your money and take your chances.... With or without its still a true ass kicker of a car and I enjoy mine every time I fire it up and by the way mine has ZCP pkg but understand I walked into the dealership and bought a car they had ordered with every conceivable option...... If I was ordering one would I include zcp, probably not!

So why does your sig say: "2011 E92 M3 AW/SC DCT, ZCP"?

I love VTEC motors, I have a 92 Lude with a h22a motor that we run in the ChumpCar World Series which is $500 crap can endurance road racing, the car is stupid fast.......... By the way we have the VTEC set to kick in at 4800 and the RPM set at 8200 and getting ready to lower it to 7k or 7200 seeing that we destroy the poor thing and have only finished 1 out of 6 races.

Nice!

My first Si was legit (new ITR Motor), my current is near stock and a daily. It revvs to 8,200 and VTEC engages at 5,800rpm. It's a fun car to daily, loves oil though

Just make sure you've got plenty of oil and you can run them hard for a long time. I like the H22, good torque, but it's heavy as hell! K series makes insane power N/A and is a little lighter than an H, but it's all good enjoy the Prelude!!

I am torn between ZCP and no ZCP. Since I would obvs opt for the 220m wheels, to move up to ZCP is another $1,000, which is insignificant.

I guess my real consideration is whether I like the 220m wheels better, and whether I want the upgraded suspension. This car won't be a track car, and if I didn't get ZCP I wouldn't get EDC.

Can't decide on paint color either, for the life of me!

I guess these are all "good" problems to have
Interesting, I bought ZCP and the M3 came with it. In other words, ZCP was the reason I got the M3 in the first place.

Coming from a Cayman, I basically wanted best handling car with rear seats that was track worthy without modifications. I also loved the wheels even from the E46 ZCP days. When I considered used E46 I only looked at ZCP cars. So, for me this was a no brainer. But if one is going to modify the suspension anyway or will not see track or does not love the wheels - ZCP may not matter. I did not get premium stereo nor nav, and some may value that above ZCP.

Maybe the heavy is good considering the thing runs for 7 hours straight as a minimum, Sebring was 11.5 hours, still amazes me that the motor puts up with this type of abuse. We broke the timing belt at Sebring but it was due to driver error (not me) and piss poor heel toe shifting.............. Back to ZCP or someone will yell at us, LOL!

The ZCP option is not $6500 in Canada, it is $5675. Maybe your dealer was trying to make a little bit extra off of you. 19" wheels and EDC are included in the ZCP package price but as individual options EDC is $2000 and 19" wheels are $2000.

Lets do the math:

$2000(EDC)+$2000(19")=$4000(cost for 19"wheels and EDC)

$5675(ZCP)-$4000(EDC+19")=$1675(difference for 10mm drop, different springs, and EDC/DSC software)

I don't think $1675 is too outrageous for what you get.

When I ordered my 2011 M3, I wasn't convinced of the benefits of the ZCP package.

Now that I've seen the ZCP wheels in person and read all about the performance benefits, I regret not going ZCP.

However, I still love my M3.

Not to be contrary or stray off topic or whatever, but considering that you get the same thing for $250 (or is it $300? I'd have to check) in the US it really is kind of outrageous. Granted Canadian prices are typically higher, sometimes double even, but we are talking about 600% here. That's pretty insane. If the package were $4500 in Canada, that would seem to be more reasonable as far as expected Canadian pricing goes.

In the US it is $2500 for ZCP. The option costs for 19" wheels and EDC in the US is $1250(19") and $1000(EDC) individually...... The net difference is indeed $250...... A excellent deal for the package IMO.

You are right in thinking we get ripped off up here on pricing. About the only thing we get a good deal on is Individual Paint...... my Individual Moonstone paint Cost $3900CDN and the Individual Composition(BMW Canada's name for the individual option) included High-gloss Shadowline, Individual Audio and Individual Piano Black trim.

I had an '05 carbon black 6 spd ZCP and loved it, but chose to go a completely different route this time and bought a 2011 alpine white DCT with 19" wheels (non-ZCP)

I don't think you can go wrong either way.

The ZCP wheels are to die for, however, there is something haunting about the graphite 18"s. The car just looks menacing. Like it's ready for the track with all that meat supporting the 18"s. Either way, I would be very happy. I guess it's like changing your footwear depending on what mood you're in.

got non zcp and then modded the crap out of the car. I've posted an earlier thread about the zcp vs. non zcp, as was able to drive back to back at a track, and like my dinan stg 3 considerably more than the zcp. I mod and track so zcp was not worth it for me. IMHO the zcp is for people who want to keep it stock, think for the track it's not that much difference, wider tires i think has more to do with the track perf than the edc remap...stock=yes, mod=no

No ZCP and 18" wheels...I didn't feel the ZCP offered my anything I would take advantage of, I didn't want to 10mm drop either, for the money.

DCT and maybe 19" wheels are the only thing I sort of regret not getting. I like the ZCP wheels, didn't like the 19" upgrade wheels.

I was bummed mine didn't come with the gray 18's... The silver is a pita to keep clean.
